Q: Peter and Team,
My bond portfolio is currently made up of HFR, CBO, and CLF. I was curious if you know if there are ETF's that are similar to these but holding US bonds that you would feel comfortable with? Basically I am looking for 1 - 5 year laddered Government, 1 - 5 year laddered Corporate, and Floating Rate US Bonds.
I was thinking hedged ones might be best given CAD is down so much but I would consider un-hedged as well.
Thanks!

Q: I haven't been able to find any previous comments on Horizons Global Fixed Income ETF (HAF). It is an actively managed fund and I would appreciate your insight. I am basically looking for exposure to global bonds for my wife's bond portfolio and any thoughts on other Canada-based ETF's to achieve this purpose would be appreciated. She already holds XBB, VBU, ZEF (very small position), and ZHY (also small). Thanks!
Q: Hi 5i,
Do you have any recommendations/suggestions for US small/mid cap mutual fund in CAD?

Q: I currently hold XIU 11%, XCB 10%,AAR.UN 10%,VXC 21%,and VFV 21%, in my TFSA account and 25% in cash($15000.00) which I would like to invest. Could you suggest a stock or an ETF suitable for investing the $15000.00. With Thanks, Bill
Q: It would seem that "averaging down" on some commodity stocks would make sense if the time horizon is somewhat long (5 yrs.), and the individual does not trade actively. I currently own tck.b / fm / g, and while down significantly, do you think "averaging down" for a long term horizon makes sense? And, of the three stocks which (in your opinion) will recover most favorably (reducing debt, not diluting itself, maintain dividend, etc.), And lastly, can you let me know of an 5i favorite / recommended commodity ETF, thanks!
Q: It would seem that interest rates in Canada are not going anywhere in the near to mid term. Would you consider CBO has a relatively safe place to park some money for the next year ?
Q: hello 5i:
I've looked, but can't find any comments on PDC. I note that Morningstar has assigned it a 4 star rating, with above average returns and lower risk (over a 3 year period), than competing ETFs. Your take, please.

Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Its been a while since any questions were asked on WETF and they continue to show strong growth and diversify their product line up. Do you have any comments on the most recent quarter or outlook for the company moving forward? Thanks,
Q: What small/mid cap European fund/ETF(s) would you recommend at this time. I am interested in diversifying geographically a portion of my investments
Q: Hello:
I was considering purchase of Disney until the recent quarter report.
I am looking for a US investment, but am now considering HXS as perhaps a better exposure to US market. Is there sufficient breadth to the US economic growth to suggest S&P will continue to perform well or should I be looking at individual stocks? Thank you. Marilyn

Q: Sold all my bank stocks and bought ZWB---good div and spreads the risk

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
Can you comment on the Direxion shares 3x leveraged ETFs? The ones I'm specifically looking at are DUST, NUGT, and CURE. I understand they're high risk (especially DUST and NUGT) and swing pretty drastically in both directions. Would you view DUST as being a good, but aggressive, hedge against the general economy? CURE also looks interesting as a bet that the healthcare sector will continue to do well.
Thanks,
Jordan

Q: I was considering purchasing CDZ - the dividend aristocrat concept seems good - the ETF information indicates that each holding -" have increased ordinary cash dividends for at least 5 consecutive years;"
I note that the largest holding in the ETF is Bird Construction but on a search for the dividend history it hasn't increased the dividend since March, 2013. This doesn't fit with one of the qualifying conditions as quoted above. How then can this company be in this ETF?
You have made favourable comments on CDZ as an investment and expect you still think it to be?
Thank you for your valued information. Len

Q: Please recommend CAD ETFs for each sector in TSX
Thanks

Q: I would very much appreciate your opinion on the fixed income portion of my portfolio. I assume that laddered bond ETF's such as CBO and CLF will do well in a rising rate environment (am I correct?) but what about the following bond elf's?...... XBB, XHB, XQB, ZCM, and ZCS??? How will they do as rates rise? Are there other bond strategies that will preserve capital for the long haul? I have recently renewed my membership for another year and appreciate very much all the excellent advice your firm offers. Thank you for your response.
Q: Any thoughts on this - in particular, am I mainly getting ROC?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Any opinions on this security as a proxy for US variable rate prefs.
