Q: aside from expenses,what are the differences between xec and vee,specifically with regards to holdings and weightings in specific countries? I own vee and am wondering if xec would compliment/add to vee. Thanx for your services.

Q: I have about 30,000 in US cash and was looking for a suggestion as to how to deploy it. Generally, I am more conservative in the cash accounts and I do not need to access the money in the near future. An ETF would be considered. I currently have JPM and HD.

Q: Could you comment on XEF as the sole holding for non-N.American exposure, and what would you consider the maximum holding as a percent of total portfolio? Are there any other ETFs that you prefer for this purpose?

Q: Hello 5i,
In the interest of understanding fully what i am buying, could you tell me how floating rate bond funds manage to float? When i look at the informarion for FLOT, for instance, i notice that the maturity dates vary from one month to five years, if i remember correctly. An etf like xsb doesn't seem to be a lot different. Is it because Floating rates are heavily weighted to the very short term, even though they do as well go out to five years?

Q: I asked about a replacement for SIN.UN. You suggested CDZ. That wouldn't be suitable for me. I already have XDV. I was looking for something with a higher rate of return. Would ZWU or ZWC be suitable?

Q: We would like to set up a "joint trading account" with approx. $1000 for our two nephews ages 4 and 2 that they can cash out when they are 18. I want to buy shares in New Flyer for half of the initial amount in each account as their dad works for them. Can you recommend a long term ETF for each account to cover the rest.

Q: Do you know, or can you estimate, what portion of the Income Portfolio's yield qualifies as eligible dividends?
Also, are you aware of any income-focused ETFs where the distribution is mostly (65%+, say) eligible dividend?

Q: HI Peter, Would you recommend adding to RHS as its price is lower now. Or you would prefer 4-5 companies solid blue chip dividend paying companies to buy and hold ( avoid MER and capture more dividend). In that case also, can you please rank them in order of your preference. UL, PEP, HRL, K, or any other of your favorites.
