Q: I have most of my wealth in an unregistered account and would like to invest in the safety of Bonds or GIC's but I don't like that they get fully taxed. Are there any ETF's or funds you would suggest that use derivatives or some other wizardy to turn Bond/GIC income into dividends so they are taxed more favorably? All without giving the advantage back through high fees or MER?
Q: ZJG vs specific stocks:
Which 4 or 5 of the names (juniors) held in ZJG could do better than the ETF?
A ranking or risk level will also help
Thank you!

Q: Since the world is engaged in massive bailouts and handouts, does taking a position in US treasuries become more appealing. I know very little about govt bonds other than they are supposed to be safe and they are uncorrelated to the stock market, but if the US govt (and everyone else) is going to buy huge amounts of their own treasuries, it seems this might be a place to make money, not just store it. Is this thinking flawed?
If i take a position in ztl, is this just a safety play, or can it continue to make big gains? Are there other long bond etfs that i should consider?
Thanks for all your help in demystifying the investing world

Q: I would like your help putting together a yield portfolio of between 15 and 20 names.
This would be the entire investments for my wife and I. We are both retired and now live full-time in the U.S. And at some point I expect my Canadian newspaper pension to disappear, so I am looking to replace that money.
I would like your opinion of the above names with regard to safety of the income and overall diversification.
I would also appreciate some additional ideas and would like to know if I`m off base on any or all of these names.
I am currently only invested in CM, BNS and BMO and DIR.UN.
Please take 20 credits (or more).
Thank you in advance for your invaluable assistance.

Q: About investing in oil directly, here is some information members should know. Please correct me if I am wrong: Although Horizon ETF "HUC.TO" is less liquid than "USO", it has a an advantage over it in this environment: It holds the December contract, not the next 2 months contracts. In other words, USO bets on oil in the short term, and HUC.TO bets on oil in 7 months.
From Horizon: "HUC’s unique methodology is designed to provide the best possible exposure to the commodity. This is done by gaining exposure to the winter months (December) contract of each year, which is often the most liquid, to eliminate the monthly futures contract roll which often creates negative roll yield. Because the oil market is most typically in a state of contango (upward sloping curve), the process of providing investors exposure to the near- month contract 12 times per year creates a constantly changing underlying investment which can prevent the ETF from accurately tracking the commodity. HUC invests only in the December contract and executes its underlying exposure roll once per year, each June."

Q: Hello!
1) I would like to get a good, general US healthcare etf .. what might you recommend now? (Long term income investor)
2) also, I would like an etf that has companies like Sanofi and GSK, at decent weights .. what do you think? I see that VYMI has them but at very low percentages.
Appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Q: I just tried Portfolio Analytics and have concluded my portfolio needs some work. I need to increase US and international exposure and I need more weighting in Communication Services, Consumer Defense, Healthcare and Technology. Please recommend US/International stocks for me to consider in these categories for a five year hold. Thank you.

Q: COVID-19 has pushed forward the whole work at home concept. That said, technology supporting this shift in working norms will be sought after. I own a few big tech companys now, yet there are so many more names that have been pushed into the limelight (like Zoom), that are extremely expensive. Would you think it better to buy an ETF or two rather than trying to pick individual stock future winners? Any ETF or otherwise suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Greetings 5i,
USO. Are there any hidden costs in carrying this over several months to a year? Decay?
Cheers!

Q: They recently announced that there will be shifting 20% of their investments to future contracts that expire 2 months out, how do you see this effecting how the etf reacts to oil prices. I have invested in this fund recently to play the oil recovery over the next year or so, should i shift my approach to this investment?
Q: Hi 5I team,
Is there a way to buy call option on crude oil price rather than play inverses ETF?

Q: May I please have your comments on this ETF. I am a senior and a very conservative investor. Would this be a good time to purchase?
Thank you for your guidance.

Q: I just received a notification of a class action suit and it advises that you must opt out by March 25, 2020 which date has come and gone.
I guess I have no choice now .. I am part of the class action. Will this create a problem for me .. what should I do? I have been involved in stocks as part of a class action. The forms and info requiredwere very time-consuming and received pennies on the dollar for it.
AYX, AMD, NVDA, TTD, FIVN, and CRM. What type of ETFs would have these type of stocks in them? I was with Dundee Private Vestors for a very long time one of their very top picks was the Sprott Growth Fund which I did well by .. manager Peter Hodson. Thanks Dennis

Q: what would be your top few picks for an ETF to ad global and US exposure to a portfolio that is lacking that? interested more in tech, industrial, basic materials and consumer defence/cyclical but would be ok looking into any sector if you think they would be a better choice.
