Q: Retired dividend-income investor. Sitting on 6% cash. Looking to add to healthcare exposure in my portfolio. Do you still prefer LIFE over HHL? Would you buy now or would you wait until after the USA election? Thanks...Steve

Q: Will there be a correction before the election? Will it be as bad as the March one? No one knows for sure however many like me believe that a correction is coming and I was hoping you would have advice on where to park equity investments that I will have turned to cash. I do not intend to put it under my mattress or buy GIC’s. What are your thoughts on bond ETF’s like ZTL or so called sleep at night ETF’s like ZZZD. I would appreciate your advice on the above and suggestions on where to invest this cash in a safer investment until after the correction please. Thank you
Q: Hi Guys
I have always been nervous about parking money in PSA high interest savings Account as it is not covered by CDIC
Are my worries here unfounded.?
Maybe my concern comes from the issues with Commercial Asset backed paper years ago.
If you can put my mind at ease on this issue it would be appreciated
Thanks Gord

Q: TD Asset Mgmt. recently introduced two new ETFs. Symbols TGED and TUED.
Both described as "Enhanced Dividend". "G" is Global, "U" is USA. Described as
actively managed blend of growth and dividend equities with various derivatives
overlaid to enhance yield. Comments/opinions about these please and cost/risk/benefits associated with the non-domestic components.
Thank you

Q: Hello 5i My nephew is approx 25 years old and is starting to invest. Is buying a Vanguard product or the XIU a good start for a TFSA or could you recommend something better. Also Coud you recommend some books on investing to read. Thanks
Q: My question wasn't understood. I wasn't referring to the % difference in share price but I was meaning to point in the share performance. For example today CGL down -0.55% and PHYS -0.83%. Cgl goes up more when gold goes us and less when gold goes down. Why?
Q: Hello 5i Team
To increase my fixed income allocation, I need to add fixed income to my non-registered account.
I am looking at the Horizon Corporate Class ETFs, in particular the Horizons Cdn Select Universe Bond ETF (HBB) in comparison to BMO Discount Bond Index ETF (ZDB), BMO Aggregate Bond Index ETF (ZAG) and/or iShares Core Canadian Universe Bond Index ETF (XBB). I am not familiar with the concept of Corporate Class ETFs.
1 - Is HBB a reasonable alternate to the listed major bond funds?
2 - Please confirm HBB does not pay a distribution and that “income” is reinvested in units of the ETF resulting in potential increase capital gains in the future.
3 - What would be the impact of a future increase in capital gains inclusion rate (from 50 % to 75%) have on corporate class ETFs?
4 - Is there a minimum dollar amount where the corporate class ETFs start to make sense (i.e. is better to pay the tax on a distribution from XBB when the dollar amounts are relatively small)?
Thanks

Q: Good day...if one was to invest in div in a cash account is the only concern the 15% hold back on the U.S. dividend...the large dividend at a reasonable fee is attracting me along with the holdings that are in the sectors that are out of favor...could you please give your opinion on this for a 10% exposure in my portfolio...Gene
Q: Hi 5i , Thansk for your great work, I recommend yo to as many people as possible. Your sits has been great for me finicialy.
I purchased $20,000 of Edge point Wealth Management 1801 over 2 years ago, I have not had any postive increases here. I am thinking of selling the fund and moving into something that is more rewarding?
Any suggestions for a replacement? Fund is in my RRSP.
Thanks, P

Q: This morning 5I answered a question from George on REM { Which doesn't appear to be in your drop down list when asking this question } .... 5I pointed out the heavy weighting in NLY and AGNC. As a former NLY shareholder just for giggles I took a look at it. The first thing I saw was the massive 16.35% dividend and my brain asked how the yield could be higher than the sum of it's parts. Then looking further I saw that REM had fallen in price where it would have yielded almost half as much as it does now pre Covid.....This is where I need 5I to " unravel " my logic. It appears to me that Mr. Market is punishing diversification over the make up of it's parts..... In other words by buying the ETF one is getting a discount on it's holdings.... { REM 16.35% , NLY 11.89%, AGNC 10.2% , didn't check the rest of the holdings } I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with my logic thus the question.... Is the ETF discounted to it's parts ? And if so, by how much ?
Q: Hi group can you please recommend a stock and an ETF for Cyber Security also a stock and an ETF for semi conductor space thanks for your guidance

Q: I would like to park some cash, with the eventual purchase of a residence and am interested in more than GIC's and I understand that this will entail more risk, though less than equity risk. What do you think of MFT, XHY, PYF, PSA, HFR and PMIF and would you split them in equal percentages?
Thanks for your service
