Q: I currently own ZEM AND ZSP. Is adding XAW good? If one is going to buy US stocks most likely us tech stocks would one need to buy the ETF XQQ?
Thanks

Q: For the fixed income portion of the portfolio, do you have any recommendations / suggestions (ETF, private fund, mutual fund, specific bonds). Realistically, hoping for a return between 3 and 6%. I am ok to take some risk. Looking for a decent risk/reward investment. Long term hold.

Q: Hi guys!

Can you please recommend some alternatives/additionas to XTR? I'm looking for high dividend with also an (as high as possible) degree of diversification. Essentially, a couple choice income picks if I were to only choose 1-3 ETF for an entire dividend-based portfolio. This is in relation to my previous question where I was looking to do something relatively safe with ~60k over 2-3 yrs. Thanks!

Q: Greetings,

We're looking for 5 very low cost ETF's for our new RRSP. The idea behind it is to hold it for a long time and let compound interest do its thing.

1) Can you kindly peruse our "portfolio" and comment on our strategy:
S&P index fund
TSX Index fund
Emerging market Index fund
"Moat" characteristics fund (Global)
Momentum characteristic fund (Global)

2) Can you suggest specific ETF names?

Many thanks!

Q: Hi Team,
A couple different parts to this question. The "Geno" sector has exploded this year. Different hot names in the sector seem to be moving 10-20% daily. I have buddies now piling into these names now, so am wondering if maybey there's a "top" coming here soon? Or if you think this Euphoria will continue in the sector? To me it almost feels like gambling to try to buy in to these things right now. Also on this topic, can you briefly give your thoughts on what has made the Geno sector suddenly start to move this year? Its not like geno work is a new thing...or is it just hitting some major progress this year? Same can be said for the EV sector. For fear of "missing out" I am tempted to sell KXS out of my rsp for a slight gain as I hold this name in 2 different accounts to raise funds to buy EAGB (the canadian version of ARKG). My portfolio is currently heavy weighted tech and I currently have no Geno exposure. Is EAGB the best way for me to play this sector long term, or do you have any explosive individual GENO names you would recommend buying for a multi bagger possibility? I have heard BNGO has some good things coming its way? .....Or should I wait for a pullback in the massive run up before I think about doing this...or not at all? If I did buy EAGB I would probably buy and hold it for years as a way to play the sector. It does seem like there could be some major breakthroughs down the road in geno technology.

Q: I am trying to increase my international / US stocks allocation with 1 of a few ETFs. I don't need income but some yield would be nice.
How do you feel about emerging markets for the next few years?
Can you please provide suggestions. Would you recommend a large position say around 15% to be meaningful in the portfolio. Long term buy and hold. Thank you for your help.

Q: Peter, I have finally got organized and opened us accounts for each family members' registered plans - rsp, tfsa, lira. With the current strength of CAD relative to USD, it seems like a good time to increase US equity exposure. I am using Norbert's gambit to transfer funds from CAD to USD accounts. I have a couple general questions:

- do you see this as a good time to increase us equity exposure both from a currency and market perspective?
- would it be best to concentrate us holdings in the rsp accounts to avoid/defer us withholding taxes (or does this matter)? I will be holding some equities (tech, biotech) and some index funds (e.g. ARK)
- on a related note, is there any disadvantage to holding ARK etfs over their Canadian counterparts offered by Emerge (apart from the latter's higher MERs)?

Thanks in advance and also thanks for your great service.

Best wishes,

David

Q: Would this portfolio held in RRIF have withholding tax on dividends. Does this look like a good portfolio?

Q: Which of these ETFs would you prefer for financial exposure? The fixed income component of FIE contains 20% CPD, which has had a nice run and is now approaching a 52 week high, 10% XCB (corporate bonds). The remaining 70% is banks and lifecos. ZWB, on the other hand, is 100% banks, with covered call premiums.

Q: Hi, 5i team
What are your opinions about emerging market and Europe? Are they attractive based on current value? Could you recommend some ETFs both in Canadian & US dollars?
Do you recommend to buy now to hold about 1 or 2 years?

Thanks a lot!

Q: I can't say I expected the green industrial stocks to do so well so quickly. I mean, I'm happy and all but it's all moved so fast. And I must say that with the urgency I feel we need to deal with climate change I'm glad that the market seems to agree with me (finally - and perhaps only temporarily?!).

Can you provide a short list of Canadian and US companies that would fit into the general green industrial/energy space? I own most of the above, but am looking for something I may have missed. I don't own any US companies in the space.

Thanks
