Q: Everyone, I am in the initial research stages of an ETF or TSX 60 or SP500 that I could use for timing-the-market (TSX or S&P500, with Canadian dollar sensitivity). Your comments are appreciated. Clayton

Q: Am retired and looking for regular income from dividend paying stocks.
Is there such a thing as a EFT that holds only dividend producing stocks that then pays out the dividends on a regular basis? If so can you suggest any?

Q: I'm confused when looking at the value in bond funds going up when the talk in town is that the rates will continue moving up even in Canada maybe a bit later this year. How is that? How do one reconcile that the the rise in yield moved in tandem with the rise in value Thursday and Friday?

Q: There are many questions and recommendations regarding safe places to put cash these days and US treasuries..
Risks investing in US TREASURIES
A question was asked the other day about UTWO. Part of your answer mentioned a 4.9% yield. Very appealing. Tempting to buy.
But as a holder of UTWO are you guaranteed your capital at the end of two years ?
I am under the impression they trade more like bond etfs vs GIC’S here in Canada.
Can you clarify that please.
And given the volatility of the market how risky are these T bills?
Is there a way to buy them and be guaranteed your capital at the end of the designated time period.
Thank you.
I am thinking they trade more like bond

Q: Would you add? Current yield and price seem attractive if reaction to the SVB run was over done.
Q: Hello, I'm 58 and debt free as of today. I have a small retirement savings in RRSP as well as LIRA. I have started a Questrade account with only one ETF, HHL, harvest Healthcare because of the good dividend. Should I continue with this one ETF ongoing or do you think I should look at other ETF's? I am happy with the projected return over the next few years but am open to hearing any suggestions that would improve my overall position? Thank you in advance.
Q: Can you clarify the tax advantage of HSAV over PSA for non-registered accounts.
Q: Here is an excerpt from my Disnat statement with entries and exits of $$.
02/24/2023 01/05/2023 DIVIDEND IN ISHARES SHARES NASDQ 100 IDX ETF -78.43
02/24/2023 01/05/2023 DIVIDEND COMPANY TRUST 200 ISHARES NASDQ 100 IDX ETF 78.43
I don't know where the money is going.
I would like to understand why these amounts were credited and then debited from my account. I asked the question to Disnat.
The answer was:
These are distributions from exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
My questions:
Is there any follow up to do from my part? Does that change my average cost?
Thank you

Q: I have a follow up question on my earlier question about UTWO. You said in your answer that it is providing a current yield of 4.9%, but when I call up a quote it says the yield is 3.94%. Is this because the quote is showing the 12-month yield rather than the current yield?
Q: Just wanted to know the prospects of LIT for the next few years. It has not been performing very well. A recent article in Globe & Mail suggest that Lithium prices may not improve till 2025. The supply of lithium carbonate is projected to double over the next three years and demand of EVs is just steady. What are your thoughts?
Q: TBIL is an ETF offering 3 month US T-Bills and provides a reasonable return of 4.53%. Is there an ETF that offers 2 year T-Bills? I think it might offer a higher return.
Q: I am curious if you are aware of any large cap investment (> $7B) that is -68% in 2 years and -40% in one year? I don’t think this can be entirely blamed on the market. In any other business there would be a massive purge starting at the very top. What are your thoughts? Has this thing bottomed?
Q: What just happened to ZWK?
Q: I currently hold BTE at 1% weighting and thinking to switch to ENCC and add for up to 2% weighting for yield and diversity in energy sector. In your opinion, is this the better move, or would holding both at 1% weighting be the preferred option? In an RSP seeking yield with some growth.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I hold some cash at present, and would like to take advantage of the dividend tax credit to reduce tax on dividend income. Can you suggest 5 or 6 ETF's that hold mostly Canadian stocks, and that have a distribution of over 7.5% consisting primarily of eligible dividends, and based on their holdings, you would consider to have a safe distribution going forward? Thank you.

- iShares U.S. Small Cap Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) (XSU)
- iShares Russell 1000 Growth ETF (IWF)
- Vanguard Small Cap Value ETF (VBR)
Q: Wondering if you still feel like the small-capitalization U.S. stocks are showing value going forward? Even with the YTD 9.59 return?
Wondering if you know of a ETF similar to XSU.CA that's tilted towards GROWTH, can be unhedged.
Thanks

Q: Looking at 3 very different asset classes that offer high yields and would appreciate your help in sorting which ones offer best risk/ reward.
1. Covered calls: NXF, ZWC, ZWU, LIFE, JEPI;
2. Credit - OCSL, ORCC, MAINMAIN
3. Yield - GCOW, EIT-UN.
Questions: 1. What is your comfort level on risk/reward for any or all;
2. Please choose which are investable with short commentary as to rationale and and target buy prices

Q: Hi there, I have EDGE and curious about XEXP. I know you don't normally go for new / low AUM ETFs but could you provide some analysis on whether you might make the switch from EDGE to the new Blackrock fund? I think hoping to get your thoughts as follows (charge multiple questions if warranted):
1. please compare the two products ignoring the differences in track record / AUM
2. If an investor likes XEXP better from a product design perspective, when might you be comfortable moving in (6 months and 100m AUM? less, more?)
Thanks!

Q: Hello,
This is one statement from the fund facts(The ETF will employ a currency hedging strategy that seeks to hedge its exposure to U.S. dollars or other foreign currencies within the non-Canadian fixed income asset class.)
I assume that the U.S and foreign Equity holding are unhedged? And is the cost to hedge the US bonds included in the MER?
Also if XBAL is held in a RRSP will I get the withholding taxes back from the US dividends.
Thank you.
Derek

Q: I have a BMO High Interest savings ETF. The distributions are reinvested in the ETF. Will the interest be reported annually by BMO? And so, no capital gain will occur when the ETF is sold? Thanks.
