Q: I am looking for a lower risk income product for short term holding. Hoping for more than 1%. I came across BBO.PR.A which is a closed end Blackrock split corp pref share product holding Big Bank and Oil. Seems to stay just above it's NAV of $10 except back in 2008. Seems like a pretty safe 5% yield holding. Volume is low though. I can't really get a handle on the split corp structure and risks etc. Any guidance or comments would be appreciated. Anything that would be better? I am also considering BMO Covered Call products. Thanks!

Q: Further to my question regarding jfs.un, I looked through the last financial statements and read through the fees, there seems to be a 2% annual fee along with a 1.5% fee and a 20% nav appreciation fee. Can you break these down as to what the yearly fee in relation to a mer is and would this be comparable to other closed end funds. Thanks
Q: Can I get your opinion on jfs.un I have recently taken huge gain off the table and I'm sitting with quite a bit of cash here. Everyone on tv keeps saying that there is still a way to go with this stock market but I also remembering hearing this in 2007 and 1999 and we both know what followed those years. Now I'm not saying that the stock market is about to crash, but JF's track record in a downturn is pretty good. Just looking for some feedback, thanks.

Q: Hi Peter, I am considering buying the closed-end fund First Asset Pipes & Power Income Fund (EWP.UN), mainly for income and diversification. The income seems very stable and the fund seems relatively concentrated. The MER looks fairly cheap at 0.75 per cent. But I am not very familiar with this type of product. NAV does not seem to be far from trading value. I would your view on this type of product generally and on this fund in particular. Thanks.
Q: Hi,
What do you think about FTN? It has grown nicely over the months due to the strength of the financial sector and coupled with capital gains is also paying a hefty dividend. Their dividend I think you mentioned is considered return of capital. What are the risks of investing in this product considering the finance sector continues its upward trend
