Q: HI guys
Could you comment on this capital share, when I bought it a few months ago I thought that any increase in the dividends in the underlying stocks would be reflected in the split shares, but this does not seen to be the case, is some of the yield a "return of capital? What do you think about this product?. I feel that I bought it for the wrong reasons and am thinking about selling it. I have owned plit capital shares in the td and ry and have done very well with them. Can you any ideas of a split capital share that follows the life-co's. Sorry that this is so long.
thank-you for your time and have a nice day

Q: Hi
Is there a Canadian small cap fund your team likes?
I tried purchasing the Mawer New Canada Fund, but it's now closed and unavailable to the public.
Any favourites you can suggest?

Thanks

Q: Please help me understand the massive increase in the "Short" position in EITun stock as reported in the Globe and Mail
I assume this change has to do with the Voluntary Redemption offer that is currently being offered.
If so, would you please advise the reasoning behind shorting the stock at this time.
Thanks

Q: Just my thoughts on the Cho 100 fund question. Post at your discretion:

Although I'm not a holder of this fund and do also strongly recommend Mawer, from a management perspective, I believe Chou is one of the best in the industry:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/investment-ideas/strategy-lab/value-investing/a-fund-manager-who-refunds-fees-meet-francis-chou/article18405672/?service=mobile

Francis Chou has even refunded fees in the past for poor performing funds, and his value strategies usually take many years to pan out. A large cash balance is likely due to not finding many value stocks in current market conditions. This also provides the ability for the fund to 'pounce' when opportunities do come up.

Q: DRA.UN reported Q3 results yesterday. they seemed pretty good to me but I am having a little difficulty interpreting their statements. For companies like this what should an investor concentrate on when reviewing results? And what do you think of the results?

As always, thank you in advance for your thoughtful analysis.

Q: After this VRX/CXR fiasco, I'm thinking of adding FAP to my portfolio, with a Yield of 11%. At age 62+, I think I need a little less risk, although I did jump in and BUY (VRX/CXR). Is FAPs' Yield safe?

Thanks ! Austin

Q: Good Afternoon.

I am more than confused about this fund. Could you shed any light on why it would trade so much lower than its NAV? Based on earlier comments by you, I have a better understanding why it would be recommended by an IA but am pleased to hear that you like the managers. Could you also let me know if the fund is redeemable once a year or once a month? It looks like I may be holding it for the long term now and should enjoy the dividend, which hopefully continues.

Q: Hello 5i Team,

What do you know about this security? It is listed in Tsx but in US dollars! My discount broker told me I can buy the shares on line but I can't sell them myself. I have to go through the broker because of the U.S. pricing. Will it be a good diversification in a portfolio and what is the growth prospect? Thanks as always. Rossana.

Q: I don't understand how a (quite liquid) Closed-End Fund can have a share price that has a significant discount to NAV over an extended period. If I were to buy a fund such as EEF.US (European Equity CEF), could I expect that the current 10% discount to NAV will eventually tend to zero (or at least be significantly reduced)?

Thanks!

Q: hi folks:

can I have your update on this security?

and, should your review be negative, what would your choices be for a similar investment; both diversified (closed end/etf) or individual equity (wsp/stn/are etc)

thanks in advance

Q: Please give me your opinion on ocs.un. I bought some at 10.00 and some at $ 9.65. As you well know it pays .175 cents a quarter. When they called suckers for this closed end IPO, I answered the call. and now it is $ 7.43. Basically, they tax the payout as a capital gain so I have paid to get my capital back. Any chance of appreciation in the future?, or dump it. When I phoned to talk to them about the fund everything is top secret thanks to MR SCHWARTZ. THANKS

Q: This is a follow-up for Terry's questions regarding DFN. The most up-to-date NAV is posted mid-month by Quadravest (the managers of Dividend 15) on their website:

http://www.quadravest.com/#!dfn-fund-features/c1rr2

The current NAV is $19.19 as of August 14, 2015.
