Q: Hello, I’ve watched this fund destroying wealth since 1995 ish. If the 30 plus years of declining rates were the result of poor performance do you think it’s possible something has changed and this could be a slow mover up in the future. Thankyou

Q: What are you thoughts on Cymbria plan to repurchase share @ 97% of aNAV (5 days preceding redemption date). Would you expect an upswing in share price that would be worth holding?
- MFS Charter Income Trust (MCR)

Q: Are either of these high dividend funds worth investing in? Each has had rapid price appreciation recently but seem relatively impenetrable per dividend safety and long-term growth prospects.
Q: When I asked about PDI back in July 2023, you stated you would be fine holding it for 3-9 months. I am still down about 20% on it. It is currently at/near the same price it was last July. I'm liking the high monthly dividend payment but am concerned how long it can last. Do you think the high dividend is sustainable (and if not how much would you expect it to be cut?). As well, looking into 2024 with interest rates likely dropping marginally, a soft/no landing scenario, and all other things considered for 2024, do you think this one can approach $22-$23 in 2024? Any other nuggets of wisdom regarding PDI are welcome .....
Q: Can you please rate these for reliability and sustainability.
LBS, SBC,GDV,PWI and LCS.
Thank You in advance.

Q: Hello Folks:
Currently we own solid positions in CIC.TO AND MFC-PK.TO and interested in both MAERSK and USA because of dividends (Maersk 19.24% and USA 9.98%).
What is your opinion of these companies, security of their dividends, growth etc. Maersk is one of the world's premier shipping companies although one questions sustainability of such a rich dividend.
All The Best

Q: Hi there,
Any thoughts on when DFN might resume its’ distribution?
If and when interest rates decline do you see a return to a higher price?
Thanks.

Q: Could I have your outlook on PTY from these levels?
Thanks for your service?

Q: I have a question about FTN.A (and other split shares) and exactly what happens on the 5 year termination date.
I gather that the preferred could be redeemed or rolled over at whatever the new rate is (not 100% sure on the redeemed part) but on the class A are they redeemed and reissued (so your value stays the same over a different #of shares) or do they just truck along?
I'm guessing the latter as they need to match with the preferred. Can they be tendered if the price is lower than the windup amount (which is rarely the case I know but this is just about understanding the mechanics)?
And lastly are they ever wound up in practice?

Q: Jeffry Gundlach, on Closing Bell ( MSNBC) after J Powell’s press conference, talked about how easy it is to get 7-8% yields and even as high as 12-13% with very little risk.
More specifically he cited closed end funds trading at 50-60 cents on the dollar.
Would you please provide a few examples of what I could buy.
Do you also agree that the risk is very low.
Thanks

Q: There haven't been many questions on RA of late. Now yielding a mind boggling 18% . That a lot for a fund based on real assets ..... Something happened in late August that took a third of its' value off . I believe that was a dividend cut ? What was the reason behind the cut ? With 73% of the fund invested in fixed income I don't understand the volatility .....Please review the structure and its' holdings and give me a fresh perspective of what this fund holds and its' investment quality. And explain why such a structure pays such a high dividend ? And if the new dividend faces the likelihood of another cut ? ......... Thanks Garth ....
Q: I'm having trouble understanding why FTN keeps having these unexplained price drops!!Last time it happened I bought a lot of it and sold it for a hefty profit a few days later, which I then invested in FTN.PR which just raised its dividend to 9.25%.Now FTN is back down to where I bought it a few weeks ago!!!The yield is 22% and as long as the NAV remains above $15 it will pay the dividend,NAV is $16.82 as of Sept 15.I know you're not a fan of split shares or short term investing, but would FTN not seem like a screaming buy here???
Q: BK has dropped 18% this week. Can you explain why such a sharp drop compared to the underlying investments.
Q: RA made a significant cut to its dividend payout resulting in a drop in stock. It still pays a high payout- how would you view the lower price to value and payout now ?
Q: Hi 5i!
Love your insights provided across your site. Keep it up!
I know you’re not fans of split corps, but I have to ask (as an observer of this stock), what is happening the past week to FTN?
