Q: Hi, I noted that you decided to sell full position in TCL.a from 5i portfolios, after owning for several years. CCL.b is still held in the Balanced 5i Portfolio, with a full position. We sold our CCL.b and TCL.a positions many years ago and switched to RPI.un. The move served us well initially but for past 12-18 months, Richards Packaging unit price has continued to decline precipitously and is near all time lows. It appears that COVID period growth has fizzled and it might take much longer for the company to digest the large Clarion Medical acquisition and the resultant debt load. Company has also guided lower for past few quarters. Although they have been paying dividend 0.11 monthly for many years, but market seems to be expecting declining growth for a while. I am wondering if you notice signs that RPI is heading into a similar direction as TCL.a. Recession fears certainly are not helping. Would it be prudent to not be mesmerized with the 3% dividend and move on, so funds could be available for better Income/Growth opportunities ? Thank You

Q: Hello Peter,
Thanks for your explanation to a question asked earlier on BAM; sorry, are you able to expand a bit. If one owned 100 shares of BAM, what would happen as you mentioned 1 for 4 basis. Does this mean BAM will still trade as BAM, and another company will trade as XXX, but as a shareholder 400 shares would be in the account or 25 shares? Also, what would happen to BIP, and BEP as there seems to be an overlap.. Much appreciated. Finally, if one owns BAM today, should one just stay put and hold the shares... thanks very much

Q: good morning,
Sold this one for a tax loss about 35 days ago. What do you think about recent earnings and forecast?
Would you buy back in or something better such as ATA or BOYD or CAE.
It's classified as basic material on many websites but industrial on yours.

Q: Hi Guys

I have owned Smart Centres for a while and done prety good by it but thinking I might sell that and add to my 1% position in Tricon. Where do you see them in terms of current pricing and future potential? Looking ahead over next 5 years which do you think will be the better position to hold?

Much thanks

Stuart

Q: Morning 5i team, thanks for all the great advice you supply to the members.
I have $50K to invest and would like your advice. This is what I’m currently holding in my non registered account.

Canada
AC, BYD, GSY, LSPD, SHOP, TDB3098, TOI
US
AAPL, SQ, CRWD, CSX, ETSY, MA, MSFT, NVDA, PYPL, UXI, ROBO, U

Considering my high exposure to Tech and your last market update, I might need to consider more consumer cyclical and financial stocks as well as others to balance the portfolio. I’m looking to have a mix of growth and value holdings.

I would appreciate your recommendations on new Canadian or US acquisitions and possible entry points. Can you recommend one of two of the US Tech stocks to sell and replace it with GOOG.

Please take as many credits a you see fit.

Thanks
Joe

Q: It looks like this is close to the time to start buying cyclical stocks. Would you agree? Which cyclical companies do you think have the most potential to become three baggers in the next three years. Not looking for ten baggers! LOL

Q: Hello Peter,
i am starting to realize, buying stocks based on previous success does not always work out as in Knights and Topicus case. However, i was wondering with current environment, is it a good idea to initiate a position in Knight with hope of good returns in future as i see little downside.. Please let me know . i am thinking of selling TOI, for Gud. Thanks
