Q: Hello Peter, I have new cash in my already-diversified RRSP. I have a moderate risk tolerance and am seeking long-term growth in plan value (whether the growth is from dividends or gains.) I currently have half positions in BIP.UN, BPY.US, CVE, CCO, CJR.B, ECA, POT and WIN. Can you please suggest which two or three of these to 'top up'. And if you would suggest jettisoning any of these completely, please share your thoughts.

Q: Hi Team,
I wanted to buy more Magna shares and noted it has been going down recently. Would now be a good time to buy the stock?
Thank you for your past help

Q: DHX keeps hitting new highs in this market. For sure a sign of a good company? If you were to readjust the growth portfolio would it make the cut?
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
I hold full positions in the model portfolio except AYA, DSG, FSV, G, MG, SYZ and T. I hold full positions in BEP.UN, SLF, and SGY. I hold what started as full positions in AVO, DHX, TOU, BAD and QST. Thanks to your guidance my portfolio is up. I’ve trimmed some winnings down to full positions and would like to re-invest.
My question is more specifically on AVO (down 35%) and BDI (down 30%). I’m very concerned about AVO.
I am somewhat considering topping up on AVO and/or BDI back to full positions. I was also considering selling one or both ......or keep holding them and invest in 1-2 names in the model portfolio that I don’t already own?
Are you comfortable with AVO and BDI at this point in time? What 2-3 names would you recommend from the model portfolio (or outside the portfolio) if I were to buy new positions? I am a long term medium risk investor. Your guidance as always is much appreciated.
Thank you for the service you provide. It is very well worth it and you’ve helped me with my investing.
Best Regards,
Marco

Q: So is the sell off overdone? I vowed never again to let a position drop more than 25 per cent before I bailed and I am getting close to that mark. Move on to a better opportunity while there is still some capital left?
Q: BDI is taking a big hit today, along with HNL. Is the threat that Petronas will not go ahead with its BC investment being blown out of proportion here as to its affect on BDI (HNL was the actual subject of an analyst's comments re: Petronas) or is it a case of a similar company falling due to "sympathetic sentiment"?
Thanks so much for your invaluable advice.

Q: Hi, On September 24, insiders (CEO and others) sold over 400k shares @$11 of Sylogist. Jim Wilson, if I remember, also sold a large number of his personal holding alongside, the previous secondary offering @$8.90. President/CEO's personal stake in the co. being very important, any info on how much share holding Jim Wilson has now? Should this be a concern? Also, Acumen Financial managed both secondary offerings and have traded almost all the large block of shares recently, both on buy and sell, what could it mean? Mawer and CI already being the largest shareholders, any guess who would have been the buyers of these large blocks? Thanks for your valuable insight as always.
Q: On April 15 I asked you about significant insider selling. More took place (at $11) on the 24th just past. Is the selling timed to avoid any drop on the announcement of closing a financing and/or issue of new shares? Should we worry that the CEO's shareholding has dropped in stages from 2.4million back in February to 370thousand now?
Q: Is this a good time for a purchase for a 1 year hold? thanks
Q: Anything changed with Sylogist? It's been down the last month and dropped like a rock this morning on an up-market day.
Q: Amaya went to 37$ recently, and seems rather volatile. In a TFSA, would you advise 'timing' the market ? Now it is at 32.70$, 11% less. It seems to make sense to do some market timing for 10% or over with no tax consequence. Same principle for a RRSP. Do you agree ? If not, exactly why ? It seems to work with volatile stocks (with no tax consequence).
One might argue that AYA being quite volatile, it might jump much higher in no time, and timing the market is always a risky game. Would you use this argument (and again I would stress that this seems useful only when there is no tax consequence) ?

Q: Hi Peter,
AVO took a beating when the CFO suddenly left immediately before earnings were released in May for "health reasons". It is now four months later and the company has yet to announce the hiring of a permanent replacement. Smells a bit fishy to me. Is this long delay a further cause for concern for AVO shareholders? How long should it take to hire a qualified and suitable CFO???
Thanks for the reply.

Q: When are we gonna hear about the apple/win case?
And what are the chances for win to defeat apple in court?

Q: CSU had a good run and has been consolidating at the current price level. Any developments that would warrant adding on a pullback here?
Q: Hi team,
In your opinion, do you think the deal will go through? Is it a hold or sell position?
Thank you.
