Q: Hi, Magna's recent acquisition in Germany has received praise from most analysts. However, stock price appears to languish and trade even below the level stock was trading before this announcement ($72).There was also huge volatility/trading, on first two days after this news ( high of $74.50 and low of $68.50).I started a position in Magna recently and would appreciate your comments. Thanks

Q: You may have read the Barrons article of a few days ago. I would think it may have contributed to the further weakness of the SP. It sounds like a bit of a hatchet job but do you consider it has much merit? I currently own 600 shares at an average cost of $41, and although I still like the stock, think it might be prudent to sell half in case of further weakness or a prolonged sideways slide. What would you do? It is still just 5% of my portfolio. I continue to berate myself for falling in love with companies. Thanks.

Q: Regarding Carl's (I think) question on MacDonald Dettwiler. Scotia, today, lowered their 2016 and 2017 eps estimates from $7.14 to $6.83 and from $7.91 to $7.66. They also lowered their price target to $98 from $102.

The Scotia report recognized the high quality of MCD's business, backlog and earning's growth but the above adjustments were made in light of current challenges in the current satellite market.

Only post if you find helpful.

Q: Hi 5i,
Are there any other companies in Canada that fly under the radar you can think of that provide a "boring" or niche product/service such as ccl, gil, sj, mda? Im looking at buying mda or gil but I don't want to pay to high of a valuation.
Great job as usual!!!

Q: I realize that there is much to like about CXI, but wonder if its post-banking-license-value is already reflected in the share price; as such, what's to prevent a sell-on-news decline? Put another way: for the price to go up, there needs to be a meaningful number of potential investors who haven't bought-in, yet, because they don't think the license is going to happen (or happen any time soon.) But there seems to be a consensus that it will, so where's the driver for price appreciation?

Q: Regarding Tom's question on Prism Medical, I was watching Prism's market depth all day and at one point there was 1200 shares on the bid at $13.50 but after that there was something like only 500 shares from $13.49 to $12.00.

Conversely, a few days ago, during Prism's rise, at one point a 2000 share buy order at marketprice would have jumped the price to $19.

Feel free to share if you think this helps.
