Q: Hi Team - XTC has been a frustrating stock. It's a half billion dollar company with a low valuation, but it's price has languished below 12 dollars. Do you have any insight into why it's such a thin trader, and why there's resistance to moving to a higher valuation? The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that it's pretty easy to manipulate a stock with such low volume.

Q: I recently took a half position in TPK in the low 6's. I'm hoping for growth plus a solid dividend.
Today they reported earnings. Sounds like a strong Q4 helped salvage the year.
I'm curious on your thoughts given their recent report.
Is this a good long term hold? (5+)
Is the dividend safe/could it grow?
What is the payout ratio?
Should I add to my position at these levels or wait?

Q: I have accounts at multiple CDIC insured lenders. One of them is Oaken Financial which is composed of CDIC insured Home Bank and Home Trust. I'm concerned about the ongoing problems with parent Home Capital; one thing after another. What's your best estimate of the likelihood of a bankruptcy, serious financial issue etc.with Home Capital which would trigger defaults at the subsidiaries so that I would be dealing with the CDIC regarding my GICs. Q: Even with their new banking licence Currency exchange Corp's stock seems to not be able to gain any traction. Would you consider it worthwhile to sell Currency exchange Corp and replace it with Goeasy ? Goeasy would pay me to wait while CXI gets their stuff together. I think they are both in the same sector. Would the switch strengthen my portfolio.

Kroll Ball rating agency commented about TAH (USa branch of Tricon) the below note. As shareholders, should we worry now about this note ? or it is an issue to deal with in 2019 . Thanks !!

"It is worth noting that one TAH securitization and the Silver Bay deal are each collateralized by a floating-rate loan with a fully extended term of five years and the other TAH securitization is collateralized by a fixed-rate loan with a five-year term, all of which will come due from September 2019 to November 2021. This concentrated debt maturity profile may result in increased financial stress for the company."
