Q: With respect to investing in big banks like BNS, what is the risk of future scandals? (There seems to be one in the news every week.) Is there a point at which investors will stop being so forgiving? If one wanted to still invest in financials, but was uncomfortable in the actions of the big banks, are there any options to invest in smaller, community-oriented banks or credit unions? Thanks in advance.
Q: Could you comment on today's article in the Globe and Mail about csu long term prospects?

Q: A past guest on BNN had a negative opinion on AYA, one of the reasons cited was a large financial obligation early in the new year, and the company didn't have the available cash. 5i thoughts? Is there any Trump factor in this name? With a change at the helm, should an investor have more or less confidence in this name moving forward? It's been quite the roller coaster being in this stock since low single digits, the drama is tiring and I'm starting to question whether it is worth it.
Q: Hi Peter and gang,
I notice that 5i's Income Model Portfolio sold its full position in DH as of Nov 30,2016, was the decision based solely on the fact that DH had recently reduced its dividend payout significantly or other factors were also at play? If yes, what are these factors?
I am currently down by about 35% on DH, just wondering if I should hold or sell. If I were to sell my full position and put the money on something else such as Kinaxis or Premium Brand. And of these 2 companies, which one is your preference?
Thanks and much appreciated.

Q: Good morning,
I have half a position in Savaria and am looking to make this a full position. My question is regarding the outlook of growth in 2017. They have indicated that 60% of their business is in US. In this new protectionist environment in US, do you have any concerns here?

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
In a response today you indicated a payout ratio of 128 percent.
Can this be correct ? How can they do that!
Thanks for all you do

Q: Joining 5i (and following your advice!) has been my best investment decision ever. Thanks for a wonderful service.
I'm planning to move one of Cineplex, Stantec, or Stella Jones from a RIFF to a TFSA, and am wondering which of the three you would think would be poised for greatest growth over the next few years.

Q: Happy holidays to staff and members.
Would it ever make sense for pbh to purchase gcl? Does the ownership structure of gcl make that a possibility? Gcl has such a low market cap but has significant revenue, I wonder if pbh would be able to ring value out of the company?
Regards,
Robert

Q: Hello 5i,
Just wondering if there is any company specific new on BOS recent recovery or is it likely related to an industrial Trump Bump and tax loss selling recovery? Is it still worth holding on to for a higher exit price?
Thanks,
Angelo

Q: Can you please describe the key differences between these two seafood companies aswell as identify your preference for growth with a bit of income. I am interested in the sector in general and both stocks have pulled back of late.
Do you think either is attractive at these levels? I have very little overall exposure to the food/consumer sector as is.
Thanks!

Q: CSU not very strong lately. Any reason it might not be as strong as usual ? Any unforeseen weakness ?
Q: RPI.un, WPK and Bemis/N have all been treading water and relative strength has faltered for at least six months also. Do you have any concerns such as input costs from energy, etc. or end-markets for Richard's specifically? Thanks.
