Q: I would like to buy one of the above companies. DSG's share price is expected to go up nicely in the next year, but it does not appear to have the push the other two have. What would you recommend?

Q: Hi,
The only financial stock I own right now is bns. I want to add one more while they’re all still down a bit. Would you prefer ecn, slf or gsy (would you even count this as a financial)? Or is there a better financial to add?
Also, what are your favorit 1-2 for consumer cyclical and discretionary?
Thanks! This probably counts as 2 questions.

Q: You have this company in Materials sector in the Balanced Portfolio and the TSX lists it as Consumer Cyclical. Sorry if you answered this before but it does seem more consumer orientated in its business.
Q: Gentlemen
My Tech sector is 22% weight of total PF
I have MAXR (- return 12%) 1.5% of total PF.
Your opinion, keep sell or buy more ?
Thanks
Best regards

Q: Hey guys,
Nice dip on DSG which leads me to my question after reading that it was removed from the portfolio. I wrote awhile back about it being a top pick and asking what the expected catalysts were. I understand that since then we have seen an acquisition which was among the reasons for expected increases. My question then is two fold
1. In light of the removal from the portfolio, would you guys walk back the inclusion as a BNN top pick or would you make that pick again today?
2. Would you have expected the recent acquisition to create a leg up if it had not fallen in the midst of a grumpy market? Did that acquisition make it more or less appealing?

Q: How would GSY's prospects be affected by a more vigorous rise in interest rates in the USA and/or here?

Q: Uber-guru Warren Buffett once said something along the lines of "Better to buy a great company at a fair price than to buy an average company at a great price". After the market pull-back of the last few days, there may be some great companies available at fair or even better prices. Can you name a few?
Q: Can you please comment on Crescendo track record and how long have they been involved in the company ? 10% of a $100M company seems small. Is it a fair comment ? Also, concerning their product and competition, what is their competitive advantage and is there a lot of competition ? thank you.
Q: GUD. Why is GUD your current favorite healthcare in Canada ?
Q: Good day 5i,
Can you comment on the acquisition done by DSG a few days back.
Thanks,
Dave

Q: Your report on this company highlighted U.S. softwood lumber duties as a major risk. But I believe that the Dept of Commerce exempted lumber from this company's territory. Does this change the rating for ADN ?
Does the increase in U.S. employment mean that there will be more demand for lumber for housing and therefore more business for ADN ?

Q: Hello 5i, firstly let me echo other comments about how nice it is to have an experienced voice of reason on our side during these turbulent times. Thank you!!
I'm considering selling AVO now to free up some cash to buy a few beaten down names. My question is...if the offer for AVO was increased would it likely to be 5-10% or maybe more?
I know this is pure speculation but I am interested in your opinion.
Thank you
Dave

Q: Hi Team, Re: AVO what other company could make a bid for it and how much better could the offer get. Within reason how much would another company offer based on AVO's valuation. Thanks, Nick
Q: Good morning Team 5i,
It looks like a good market correction this week.
What would be your top 5 picks be ( for a 1 to 2 year hold ) over the next few days ?
Thanks
Paul

Q: I currently own GPS at only a 1.65% weight and in a loss position and wonder if I should buy more to bring it up to 2.0%-2.5%. My weight in the technology is good.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: As a loyal Albertan and patron of their retail outlets, I have held a position in LIQ for six years. I now read (FP) that ACB is initially purchasing 20% of LIQ (103.5MM) through private investment and may purchase an additional 20% of the company later. Apparently LIQ plans to convert some of its existing LIQ outlets and open new locations -- all of which will launch as a new brand of cannabis retail stores. Your comments appreciated. Thanks.
Q: If Motorola is planning on buying the company for $27.00 why can I get no bidders to buy my stock at $27? It trades for less than that. Or is it just that whoever buys it is trying to make a few bucks, i.e. trading at $26.90 to $26.94. Or that there is a chance the deal does not go through.Thanks.
Q: GUD. Is it not trading below its book value ? How comes and why so ?
Q: Little decline here on Chartwell- maybe time to add some more... anything specific driving this?
Q: Can you outline the process forward if the deal is completed. If we hold the shares until closing what happens then.
Thank You
