Q: Hi Peter & 5i,
Will you please explain the proposed strategic combination? Looks like if every unit holder tendered their shares for $37, then I'd receive $37 for 30% of my shares and 1 share of the new company for the remaining 70%?
If all unit holders (except me) elected to convert their shares to the new company, is it possible to receive $37 for 100% of my shares?
What is your recommendation?

Q: Reading TSX Money about the combination of A&W Royalties Income Fund and A&W Food Services, it says, "Each Fund unit to be exchanged for one share of the combined company or $37.00 in cash (subject to proration)." As I write the unit price of A&W Income Fund is $33.76 which is a long way from $37. Can you please explain what unit holders have to do in order to get the full $37?
Thank you as always for your expertise.

Q: I have noticed that the real estate ETFs have been languishing over the last 10 years. What is your view of the real estate ETFs over the next 5 years? Under what conditions will these ETFs do well? What type of real estate ETFs do you expect to do well (domestic vs international, commercial vs residentical, etc.)?
Please recommend a North American and an international ETF which you feel could do well over the next 5 years. What percent of a portfolio would you recommend include real estate for diversification purposes?
Thank you for this excellent service.

Q: Hi Team,
After the sell off of the last couple days now what are 3 of your favourite Canadian stocks you would be keen on buying today for a long term hold, regardless of sector ranked best to least. Also if there are any US names available as cdrs that are good buys today after some extreme selling I would be interested in those to.
Thanks ,
Shane

Q: Questions on CTS:
How similar is its business to GIB.A, if at all? Does it make sense to hold both?
Do you have a good feel for its resiliency (i.e. competition and poor economy)?
Is there any vision or plan on this company growing going forward?
Are there odds of a takeover in the future?

Q: Hey folks, hope everyone is enjoying the summer season. I own basically an equal weighting of BN (4%), BAM (4%), BEP(4%) in our various accounts. I'd like to buy a 4% position in BIP. Now comes my question, should I be a lumper or splitter - that is, am I ok looking at these as 4% positions, or would I be better to look at this as 12% position moving to 16% wrt Brookfield products??

Q: Hi with interest rates beginning to edge lower what would be the sectors most likely to benefit? Could you give me a couple of your favourite picks for each of those sectors. Would you be edging in, fully buying in, or hold off for a possible October correction? With the likely chaotic return of Trump to the Presidency would the Renewable stocks such as BEPC be at risk of correcting under this scenario? He does not like windmills much... Thank you for your service and deduct credits as you see fit.
Q: Hi Peter, in one of your answers you say that CSU is not cheap at 39x earnings and you would be comfortable owning it. Does that mean you would still buy it at today's price or would you wait for a chance to buy it at a cheaper price and do you think there is a possibility for a pull back. Thanks
Q: The long term chart of this one shows the current price back to where it was in 2002. Is that correct?
Thx

Q: I’m reviewing your report on GLXY and am somewhat confused with the ownership structure.
I am trying to understand this relationship and have a few questions.
GLXY only significant asset is 33.7% ownership in GDH.LP.
Am I correct that an investment in GLXY is an indirect but full investment in GDH.LP?
If GLXY only asset is the investment in GDH.LP why would GLXY have 440 employees worldwide?
Who are the other significant owners of GDH.LP?
Does GDH.LP trade on a market or is it private?
Based on your recommendation I did take a position on GLXY and I have done very well with it. And thank you in this regard.
I am now deciding if I should trim or hold and understanding this company structure will help me in my decision.
Thanks John

Q: Hi 5i Team - This question has likely been asked before. Is it possible or probable that CSU would do a stock split. It is now over $4000 per share which makes it difficult for some smaller portfolios to take a partial position or increase/decrease partial positions. Thanks.
Q: Hello 5i team,
I am curious about your thoughts on Premium brand holdings (PBH). I entered a position around $86 and the stock has gone down in the past 2 years from a high of $110. I was wondering if you are still confident in the company? The BE portfolio entered at ~$56.
I think this is a slow growth company organically, do you stay with a holding as long as it is well above the entry point or is there a point were you may say that a company has run out of room and is time to exit?
Thank You,
Andrew

Q: For a long term hold 10-15 years in a registered account with DRIP on which of these do you see returning better? I already own some BN in an unregistered account but I am not afraid of being concentrated. Thanks
