Q: I have noticed that there hasn't been much news regarding GSY lately. Do you still think it is a solid company? You don't seem to be recommending it anymore as you seem to like companies like SIS, PBH, TOY, and KXS. What would you be expecting for earnings in the quarter?

Q: Can you please provide specific reasons why you like this stock? Starting to lose patience and believing I can reallocate it to more productive names. Thx
Q: Hello,
Would this be a good time to initiate a position in WSP, or did the tide already rise? Thanks

Q: I currently hold toy in an unregistered account and am down slightly. I would like to move it into my TFSA. What would you recommend?
1. Buy in the TFSA first and wait 30 days
2. Sell in the unregistered account and wait 30 days to buy in the TFSA
3. Or transfer into the TFSA and forego the tax loss
4. Wait for Toy to reach cost and then transfer into TFSA
Thx,
Kc

Q: I am looking to recession-proof my TFSA with stable companies like Chartwell Retirement Residences and Park Lawn Corp. But my stock chart shows Chartwell collapsing from $14 to $4 in 2008/9, taking until 2016 to recover. Park Lawn doesn't seem to be listed that far back (but I note your report describes it as "recession-proof." Would you recommend Chartwell despite the 08/9 numbers and does your assessment of PLC mean that it would be relatively unaffected by a similar market meltdown?
Q: Morning 5i, Can I get your opinion on these companies. Would you recommend alternative stocks ? or stay put!
thanks.
thanks.
Q: Hello 5i,
Stars group continues to be one of your favorite higher risk growth stocks. I personally have the same view. However, it appears the market continues to beat this company down.
Please explain what are the top 3 reasons (other than the high debt) that you believe is causing this stock to currently continue to move down and please detail (debt reduction, revenue beats, acquisitions etc..) what will have to occur in the mid-term in order to drive this stock higher and make an u-turn. Finally, what should the minimum time horizon be if one is currently holding this security. What are the top downside risks (Including: Regulatory, political, execution etc..) and to what degree is each of these risks going to impact this company on the downside.
Thank you,
Joseph

Q: What do you think about buying some shares of CSU now, or is it too late? Or wait for a better entry, in that case what is a better entry point?

Q: What sector would you put Park Lawn Corporation? Also, what is an appropriate percentage allocation for each sector
Q: anything to account for the pop in price today? Thx
Q: I am underwater with this one for about 32%. While I understand the long term story on this stock, would it be unreasonable to sell it and go to a growth name during this market downturn? Any suggestion for a replacement? or I should be patient to wait for a rebound. NFI is not a large position in my portfolio.
Q: The quarterly results for CGI today struck me as positive and yet the market thought otherwise. Do you have an explanation for the sizeable drop in the share price this morning?
Q: Hi , peter I would like to buy one of the above. In my tfsa acct. thanks long term.
Q: hi folks:
as a PSA to the group, i wonder how long it is until the money laundering in river rock becomes a serious problem for GC
i do not own it for this very purpose and wonder how people will react when all the dots are connected and it is proven that GC was complicit in criminal behavior on an epic scale
not sure what the outcome will be yet i think people should handicap accordingly; and no, side from not owning i am not sure how to quantify this risk
comments?
cheers

Q: Hi 5i
What do you think the reason is for the stock split in ENGH? Is it time to get out?

Q: Hi team,
What is your take on their recent acquisition of Visual Compliance / eCustoms Business? Is it very accretive or just in line with their prior acquisitions? I recall their purchase of Macropoint in 2017 was around $200 mil so this one is a larger acquisition monetary wise I think.
In your opinion, has Macropoint worked out as expected...or are there still better things to come from that integration?
Should we expect similar performance with this new acquisition (over time)?
I have held this company as an overweight position for 10+ years and it has done very well for me...thx! It seems to be a 'steady eddie' type stock for the most part...albeit expensive at times based on PE numbers...but sometimes you have to pay up for those types of companies.
Keep up the great teamwork!!
Cheers,
SteveMc

Q: A good article on Jonathan Goodman (GUD) in today's ROB magazine. Also, full page ad submitted by Fiera Capital Corp alleging increased investor interest in 'alternative investments'.

Q: Hi 5i team,
Following the release of their most recent quarterly results, and their share price drop (a couple of bucks), is CXI still a long term “kind of boring” buy?
Eps growth seems to take longer to happen then expected at first. Following yesterday’s conference call, do you find management’s narrative still credible regarding expenses control, being finished increasing fixed costs (hiring and systems), several sources of growth strategy (catalysts)?
Aside from liquidity, which does not bother me since my time horizon is fairly long (sell at the time management will sell the company), do you have any additional concerns (consumers going electronic/plastic faster than expected?)?
Thank you for your collaboration,
Eric

Q: Photon Control is a company mentioned frequently in this section. You seem to be a fan. Tell me why. Would this be a speculative buy?
Thank you,
