Q: In respect to Paul's question, non-eligible dividends are not taxed the same as interest income. As an example, for 2019 the top Ontario tax rate on interest income is 53.53% whereas the top Ontario tax rate on non-eligible dividends is 47.40%. By comparison the top Ontario tax rate on eligible dividends is 39.34%. I'm not aware of why A&W pays out eligible versus non-eligible dividends. TaxTips.ca has a good site for those that want to review tax rates on dividends, interest, etc. at different levels of personal income.

Q: I own 800 SHS of ENB in my non-registered acct.: had for 10 years - added to original position a couple of years ago to bring to current 800 SHS. Also own same number of TRP SHS - same scenario. Added together both a small % of total portfolio. Sitting on a lot of cash and was thinking of increasing ENB to 1000 SHS. Also own: BNS, BMO, CM, T, BCE, IFC, TCL.A & NFI in this account: last 2 were added last Jan.

Q: Hi, What will be the new no. of outstanding shares for Savaria, with 5 mln new shares issued and the insider ownership ( Mr Bouroussa and family, with addition of 71,000 committed from new issue) ? Based on 2019 guidance, and taking into account this dilution, what will be the pay out ratio ? Is this dividend 3.5 cents/month sustainable, in your view ? While no one likes a secondary at $14.15 after an issue at $16.60, a year ago, on a positive note, company could pay down a large portion of $101 mln debt, thus strengthening the balance sheet. Is there a silver lining and stock is worth adding at current level for 3% dividend yield and growth ? Also, is there a lock-in period of 4 months for the new shares from April 22, the expected closing date of secondary? Could it place more pressure on the stock, down the road ? Thank You
