Q: I have been tempted to buy Lightspeed to put in my tfsa, as i see it falling. It is hard for me to judge, though, whether a fairly new stock, like this and quite volatile is appropriate for a retired person. I have a moderately high risk tolerance. But is this too risky for that demographic, do you think?
Thanks as always

Q: According to gsy news release gsy owns 1123570 shares of afrm. At 141 per afrm share that’s 158 million USD
Questions
1- how is that accounted for in the financial statement
2- I assume the forfeiture part means if paybright does not hit targets then gsy forfeits the 468k shares
3- is the market even reflecting this in gsy share price

ii) 655,416 common shares of Affirm, and iii) 468,154 common shares of Affirm held in escrow and subject to forfeiture if certain PayBright revenue milestones are not met

Q: Hi 5i,
Looking through the last 5 years, it appears that the typical dividend from LNF bounces between $0.12 and $0.16.

How do you feel about their recent special dividend of $1.41? I would've expected them to reinvest most of this to help grow further or slightly increase their dividend going forward.

I would have also assumed that this special dividend would have sent their stock price higher as a reflection of their current strength but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Q: Hi Peter,
I have been holding onto DND. After the news on the decision to remain a public company, I was glad indeed at the decision made.
If management was willing to take the company private at $50.50 and now the committee that was formed decided that there is more value over and above the $50.50, I am surprised that the stock is selling off . It’s actually now on sale as far as I am concerned and I have been happily adding to my position.
Could I get your thoughts?
Thanks

Q: LSPD's SP continues to be very volatile daily while under the current short attack. Can we assume such attack will not end until the company reports its next quarterly results - assumed to be in the first week of November - based prior reporting history

The assumption is, after LSPD reports publicly as required by law, the short's accusations would either be proven correct, or partially correct (after all the best lies are the half truths), or just vicious rumors used to destroy LSPD's SP for their own profit.

If the accusations are without merit, do the indemnified parties, such as us common small retails, can seek restitution from the short seller? Has that happened before and how successful are they in seeking such compensation based on past history?

I've been in the market for almost 20 years and find the practice of short selling morally unethical. What legal protections do the investors have against such shady practice from the market sharks with big capital? Please enlighten us.

Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i Team - Does Lightspeed have the fundamentals and resources to survive a continued short attack, Secondly do you have any concerns regarding its business model going forward. Thirdly from what I have read and heard many restaurants are struggling to hire enough staff to continue operating on a full schedule even though indoor dining is now allowed in many jurisdictions with vaccination passports. As a result some are reverting to takeout only. Since Lightspeed serves the hospitality industry, is this a concern?

I have a relatively large position in lightspeed and need to trim. The question is how much. Your response to the above questions will help me with my decision making.

Thanks again for the excellent service and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Rob
