Q: Can you suggest some Canadian companies, other than in technology, utilities or finance, that you currently consider to be undervalued and worthy of consideration for a long term investor. I've done very well with your suggestions of MG, WELL, ATA, TFII, EIF, PBH, GSY. I don't mind adding to any of the latter but would like to know if you see value ( or at least promising growth from today's prices) Thanks and best wishes always - Al

Q: hello 5i Research team,
When you answer that Magna be among the companies that will benefit from the increase trend toward sales of EV: can you elaborate on how and why, and also which of MG reporting segments (body exteriors & structures; power & vision; seating systems; complete vehicles) will benefit and especially how will it benefit. I cannot specifically identify a winner. My intuition says « power & vison » will probably loose from the transition out of oil (it represents about 30% of sales: which is about appropriate for an entier vehicle). Therefore if I am correct, there is no specific advantage for MG from the transition to EV. Please enlighten me. Thank you for your collaboration, Eric

Q: I read your answer on DND this morning and you noted they missed EPS expectations.

I was trying to figure that out after the earnings were released yesterday but it seems pretty muddy to me with the shares, debentures, diluted eps/non diluted etc. The EPS expected on the TD site was 21cents and if you take shares outstanding (listed on TD at 68.1m) I get 32cents EPS on income of 22.1m.

So to break that down what did you see as the expected EPS and on what basis was it?

Also I cannot find any information on the debentures (other than the amount raised and the nominal denomination) and at what rate/level they are convertible. Do you have that information?

Q: When it comes to small caps I have never been a believer in " The market has priced in " or " The market looks ahead " .... I am a firm believer in ..... " The market is herded by the loudest barking dog " .... For example REAL makes money , has money in the bank, missed earnings by a penny and got crushed .... The " dog " got very loud.....This brings me to AND who in two years with a 14% annual growth rate is getting close to tripling in price .....It's a bricks and mortar type of company which appeals to me .....But AND is a small cap that has had a run ..... Please give me your opinion of a current valuation for the stock ? { stock price and a good entry point } And more importantly a speculation on what that damn "dog " might do should they miss earnings estimates by 4%-10% ? { stock price } .... Which with the world's current supply chain issues is certainly possible .... For example new truck drivers are in short supply these days ..... I realize I am asking you to make an educated guess but I trust your guessing a lot more than mine ......I am having a tough time assessing this particular small cap's volatility potential which is how I assess the position size I take .....Also please provide the next earnings report day ? ..... Thanks for your great service .....
