Q: Year 2 of my 19 year old daughters TFSA. Year 1 suggested she get BAM.A and she is very pleased she followed my suggestion....I am thinking year 2 of more of a growth stock. LSPD has been really beaten up, good buy for very longterm hold or is there a better " foundation" stock from your growth portfolio you would suggest?

Q: Hi Peter and Team, Happy New Year!

I have been following the Balanced Equity Portfolio as close as I can since the first day it was available in 2013. Congratulations on the great build and success with that portfolio!

Over time, I've had some deviations and don't have exactly the weights you have per the last report. I keep adding cash to the investments every month and have also spend some time building up some ETFs to reflect the "rest of the world."

My question is this - let's say I can top up weightings on BE Portfolio names, which ones would be the most buyable today based on current conditions and outlook. I am long term (like I said, held the BE Portfolio since inception and a number of the names I owned before the BE Portfolio was created), and want to keep making the annualized rate of return it's been delivering.

The names that I have the biggest gap to in the BE Portfolio are CSU (rode from $214 to $1650 but had to sell to fund a home purchase and never bought back and its kept going up) and WSP (just had less cash at the time).

Original weighting target has been 5% in 20 names.

Q: Hi Guys, I recently listened to a financial guy who was asked to compare LSPD to SHOP, his basic point was that Shop's growth was organic, LSPD not so much and more by acquisition which by nature is harder to integrate into a common business this thesis made sense to me. Can you offer an opinion on growth organic vs acquisition & would you expect strong organic growth from lSPD in the future for a long term investment.

Q: I hold BEP.UN in a non registered account but would like to replace it with BEPC. From a tax point of view are they considered to be identical securities such that I have to wait 30 days before buying BEPC? Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

For a TFSA that includes all sectors except for Consumer Cyclical (don't know how I let this happen!), what would be your top five Canadian picks in Consumer Cyclicals for 2022? Should all 6K go into one of them, or should two or three be purchased for diversification purposes?

Thanks in advance for your valued assistance, and the best of the season to everyone at 5i as well as your members. I've learned so much from all of you!

Q: I want to initiate positions in my unregistered investment account, but if I buy all 8 above stocks, each position would be extremely small. (But that is still an option.) Considering thoughts on inflation and interest rates, could you put these in order of priority for purchase now. These positions would primarily be for safety, with a bit of income, which is non-essential, and some growth, which is also not essential. Just looking for your confidence level of these as companies for the longish term.

Q: Hi 5i team,

I have a 2% position in ATZ and 1.5% in BYD. Both did well, but I'm thinking of more concentrated names in my portfolio. Considering that they are both in the same sector, would it be a good move to have all allocation in ATZ?

Happy holidays!

Matt

Q: Hello again and thanks for your insights on AGNC, I think I will set that one aside for now. Searching the Q&A I have assembled this list of 4 companies for diversified exposure to residential and industrial real estate in Canada and the US (a bit of global with Prologis is appealing). In your opinion does this group provide complementary exposure? Can you suggest an addition to this list or is there one that you would remove?
