Q: Thinking of diversifying outside US/Canada. Can you please suggest three reliable China/Asia index ETFs in Canada or in the US with low management fee?
Q: Hello Peter,
Could you give your opinion on Garmin. It is taking a hit today. The stock is a bit expensive. The quarterly results were marginally better and the company maintained its guidance. However the stock has been in a decline past few weeks. Is it time to cash in the profits?
Q: I have the above international ETF's in my RIF at a total allocation of 39%. I am interested in your assessment of my choices. Any duplication? Should I delete any? What should I add in it's place? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for adding analytics. It's a great assist.
Q: Is it possible for a Canadian investor to buy into BYD Build Your Dreams a Chinese electric car company. Is there an ADR for this company. I heard Mr Buffet owns 20%. Any thoughts on this and could it go into a TFSA. Thanks Chris
Just wanted to ask what you think of STNE for the long term? Is this SQ of Brazil/Latin America? Can it compete effectively as a disruptior?
It fell significantly after Itau Unibanco, a large Brazilian bank, said that it will begin to advance credit card payments to merchants in just two days as opposed to the 30-day industry standard. It might fall even more once its lock-up period expires on 23 April.
I appreciate it if you can comment on its moat, market, and management? Would you be a buyer at the current price, given their current balance sheet and future growth? Or would you wait for the dust to settle?
Q: Hi .... There seems to be a lot of attention these days around new IPO's. One that caught our attention the other day is LUCKIN ..... China..... going up against the Gorilla known as SBUX. This is a 2 part question:
1. What are your thoughts regarding the appeal of Luckin as an IPO?
2. In order to be "allocated" shares on an IPO are there any specific guidelines or rules that apply? E.G how big an investment is required to have a chance of getting IPO shares or is this a investing/trading opportunity more limited to the BIG GUYS with deep pockets vs the average smaller retail investor.
Q: Good day 5i and happy Easter to all.my current allocation to global equity is 25%of which 7% is mpcf and 18% xdg..I am retired with a divided and growth profile.do you like mpcf as a so called way to have an alternative weight to portfolio or as I am considering dropping it in favour of more yield and add to xdg? And also do you think xdg offers good value at 21$ or would you wait for a pull back? Your input geatly appreciated.tks Larry
Q: I have recently been adding to my position in EEM. It is currently my biggest position. Should I sell EEM and replace it with IEMG due to the lower fees ? Thank you for this great service.
Q: Knowing Sapiens of 5i - 2 questions - do you think that over the next year some increase in exposure to emerging markets is appropriate and would you use VEE or XEC if so and IEMG for US dollar exposure or another US ETF - second might a reduction of exposure to Cdn banks seem reasonable over the next year (ie sell some TD and maybe some BNS) and buy some SLF or another financial Cdn equity for some greater torque - in other words do you suspect the banks may stagnate a bit over the next year and become income only to some extent - best guess please - appreciate your instincts - Ken of Yonge and Eg
Q: Hi, thank you for the article on international stocks and the portfolio analytics.
I am now trying to decrease my Canadian home bias (40% to 25%) by increasing my international exposure (20% to 35%) and maintaining my US at 40%. My wife and I own XWD, VE and XEF in our TFSAs. I was thinking of selling XWD and adding VEE or VWO (RRSP) and/or VDU or VEA (RRSP). The switch to RRSP additions is to benefit from US withholding tax exemption.
Could I have your thoughts on the above changes. Is there too much overlap in owning all four ETFs? Could I simplify to one, two or three?
Based on JMIA's run after their recent IPO, there seems to be a perception that they are on the same path as AMZN. What are your thoughts? Is this a good time to buy, lots of momentum behind this company.
Q: I lhold( tot:sa) this in my rsp there was a question awhile back asking about withholding tax, change in tax law ??? it doesn't show up could you please give your opinion on this stock and whether it ok to hold or if there is a better alternative.
Q: I have owned Nexa for over a year it is down but the dividend is good.
reading td webroker seems like there is extensive positive commentary but I must confess I am not sure if holding on to Nexa is the right thing,
It represented just under 2% but has fallen to 1.4%. Seems like a play on Brazil etc as well as zinc. Should I hold and add to bring it up to 2% or let it go. thanks. it is in an rsp.
