Q: I own a 2.5% weighting inside an RSP of ZUB (CDN Hedged) and have enjoyed a 25% gain to date. I see BMO has introduced a New non CDN hedged ETF named ZBK covering the same equal weight US banks.

Would you recommend selling the ZUB to buy the new ZBK ETF?
I'm assuming for the next 12 months Canada will see a 90 cent dollar to the US.

Q: Hi Peter,
I wuld like to diversify my portfolio away from Canada and the US by adding a European ETF. The problem is there are not many choices in the Canadian market. I was looking at XEF (ishares not hedged) and ZDM( BMO hedged) but now I am considering the new EUR from First trust, which is a more pure play on the European market. Also, if recovery is starting in Europe it would seem to me that an Alpha ETF might have a superior gain over an index not to mention the pure play in Europe. What do you think of this new ETF and do you know if it is hedge or not and is that important when investing in Europe?

Q: The US debt load continues to grow as does the associated interest costs.The money supply growth should lead to high inflation and possible devaluation of the US dollar. China and other nations are busy reducing their holdings of US dollars and the dollar will soon be replaced by a basket of currencies for some commodities such as oil. In addition to the obvious hedge of gold,silver and mining stocks should we consider some currency hedging? Their is an ETF for the Chinese yuan CYB which seems safer than the Forex market. Your comments would be most welcome.

Q: Just a follow up to my recent question:
I was particularly interested in FNDE, but, as you noted, it is very small. In fact its assets are only 18.5 million and it traded only 11,011 shares today. Is it too risky? Thanks for your help.

Q: Siemens (SI)has announced its intention to delist the ADRs "immediately". What impact would you expect on the stock price? Roughly how long would you expect the delisting process to take? SI states that the ADRs will become subject to a "sponsored level 1 program". What is this and does it offer any advantages to North American holders? Absent the proposed delisting would you hold or sell SI?

Q: Could you recommend a few ETFs that employ fundamental indexing for international (non US) exposure and for emerging market exposure. Funds in Canadian dollars would be preferred, but this is not a prerequisite.

Q: I would appreciate your comments on Baidu (BIDU on Nasdaq) versus Qihoo 360 Technology (QIHU on NYSE). I realize BIDU is a search-engine while QIHU is an internet security company, but my main interest is having a play in something with some legs, but with good fundamentals, in global technology. China seems like a likely area to focus my funds. I hold mostly Canadian stocks in my portfolio, with only one other "global" play being Visa. If not one of these two, would you please suggest something in global tech that has good growth? A dividend is not a requirement, but always a bonus if there is one. Thanks very much!
