Q: I know you’re not big on TA (Transalta) and you have commented that it’s only a hold for income. I’ve held TA for 10 years and in that time many have commented that they (TA) do not earn the dividend, however the dividend is supported by the cash flow. It’s been that way as long as I can remember.
Today TA suspended their “Premium Dividend Program”, which I think just allowed shareholders to purchase shares at a discount. Do you see this as a early warning that the cash flow supported dividend might be in jeopardy or is this just a reaction to the stock trading near its 52 week low?
Thanks
