Q: Hello 5i, I think Inter Pipe IPL.un is converting to a dividend paying corp from a trust unit. Could you explain the options on conversions as I think there is a limited time frame to make your choice as a shareholder as to taking a capital gain or not.
But in both cases you will still hold the same amount of shares.

Q: I am looking at the Emera Preferred E. It looks like it was issued at $25.00 in May and is now 20.99. Is there a problem with this issue because of the lower price. It has a good yield and the parent is blue chip.

I am thinking to initiate position in Emera and gibson. Are stock prices significantly down due to fundamentals or due to macro factors? Do you recommend these as buys at current prices or alternative recommendations if any as buys?

Q: Hi, My question is about Gibson Energy,technicly speaking, looking at a 1 yr chart, it has completed a head and shoulders pattern and is continuing to decline. Fundamentaly, it had an OK 1/4, and seems to have a promising future, but I am now down about 10%. Should I hold and persevere,sell, and try to buy back cheaper over the next couple months, sell and add to my ALA,PPL, and CXS on further pull backs. Thanks for your help.

Q: Hi 5i,

With regards to BEP.UN, it seems to be a good buying opportunity with the recent pullback. I'm wondering though, on their balance sheet they have $933 mil in current liabilities and $682 mil in current assets, giving them a current ratio below 1. Does this concern you at all? Why or why not? Thanks!

Q: I have owned BBD.PR.C for a few years now, it has been a "steady Eddy" paying approx a 6% dividend. It is redeemable at 25$, does that mean that eventually the company has to redeem at the issue price or do they have other options, and what are your views on it for the income portion of a portfolio?

RBC has made a pretty strong statement this AM re the outlook for this co. The reference is to little growth, and more problems. What is your opinion now Peter and good crew.
