Q: Good morning team, I have been paging through the income and dividend questions. I am looking to make a substantial purchase in my TFSA and I am looking for your top 3 or 4 dividend paying companies. I would be interested in DRIPS as well but not absolute. Thanks again and have a great long weekend!

Q: Recently, I had asked you about 4 to 6 energy stocks for comparison purposes which you answered. I am still thinking about them and also am considering 2 ETF's. They are ZWU and ZUT. Could you explain the difference and do you have an opinion on them? Thanks again for your good work.

Q: CUS, further to your comments recently, would you buy , sell or hold right now. I have this one in my TFSA? If they reduce their dividend this thing will get killed!!

Q: Hi guys, just a quick question on EIF.Im thinking of replacing some of my ETFs which I hold mainly for income (cpd, xre, xhy, xbb) with EIF,I know it is not strickly an income stock and would only be a portion of my income group in my RSSP.

Q: I have been following Chemtrade CHE.UN for sometime looking to add to my RRSP on a pullback. Like it for its good and stable yield. I noticed you cover Canexus CUS in your summary and it looks like a similar company with comparable yield. Which of these would you prefer and which would provide better growth in price and dividend. I notice that CUS has had quite a sell off recently. Is this a good buying opportunity.

Q: As a follow up to Jacks question on Aug 23 regarding FAP: is there any history of them having cut dividends previously? Their payout ratio seems pretty high at present.
Thanks

Q: Valener Inc [VNR] has dropped down a bit after a long stretch in the $16 range. Its position, in a registered account, is ~2% and I use this investment for income. At your convenience could I have your update on the company? I'm wondering if I should not increase my position in that company? I also hold IPL.UN and PPL.
Thank you,
Ron

Q: Good morning 5i,
I own E-L Financial Corp's preferred shares ELF.PR.F, which I bought 4 years ago yielding 5.5% at the time. The shares are now lower and yield almost 6%, so I'm thinking of adding more to my portfolio (currently a 1% weighting). Other than interest rate risk, is there anything about this particular issue that would not make it a good candidate for long-term income? Many thanks in advance,
Brian

Q: Good morning 5i team. I bought Enbridge (ENB) and TransCanada (TRP)during their recent price dips in June. Realize it's only been a couple of months; however, both seem to be languishing, with ENB down some more. Is this due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding projects like Gateway, Keystone, etc., ongoing concerns about income stocks, or maybe both? Are thet both still decent long-term holds? Thanks.

Q: Hello 5i, I think Inter Pipe IPL.un is converting to a dividend paying corp from a trust unit. Could you explain the options on conversions as I think there is a limited time frame to make your choice as a shareholder as to taking a capital gain or not.
But in both cases you will still hold the same amount of shares.
Thanks
