Q: Sherritt
Today I am hearing that Cuba is going to change the laws to allow wholly owned companies to invest in Cuba.
Also they are going to gurantee that assetts will not be confiscated.
If this happens willit not be HUGE for Sherritt?
Thanks,Warren.

Q: On Torstar. Last night on BNN, Patrick Horan made Torstar a top pick. I have always considered the stock an avoid as it is in a dying industry--along the lines of your last answer on this in November.Agilith Capital has an extraordinary record so I was surprised. Has something changed, am I missing something or is this just the disagreement which makes markets?

Q: Thank you Peter, for your response concerning my TFSA portfolio. In keeping with my goal of creating growth, I have come up with the following ETFs and would ask your opinion on their value. If you differ with any of them could I ask you to recommend a substitute. I find it a challenge, with the resources available to me,to pin down ``dividend growth`` ETFs. I have selected the following based on their asset size, MER, and sector diversification. They are as follows:
CDZ, XRE, ZPR, XTR and CHB. They would make up the entire portfolio. Thanks for all you do for us.

Q: Hi Peter:
I am retired with a modest pension, and a huge believer in asset allocation focused on Cdn dividend income. I have recently trimmed several positions to raise a bit of cash (now at 7%) to take advantage of a possible summer pullback. In equities I own AD, AQN, ALA, BCE, BNS, BTE, BA, CFN, CGX, CSU, CPG, III, PBH, TCN, WEQ, as well as 2 dividend funds and 1 REIT fund.

Do you see any red flags? Caution flags for me are CFN and WEQ. Once purchased, I normally like to give the stock "time to perform".

Thanks for your help,
Steve

Q: Hello Peter, thank you kindly for your great advice to date. I would like your input on my TFSA portfolio. I am holding 6 issues, roughly 16 to 17% weight for each as follows:
ZHY, ZDV, OXF.A, LXF, IPL, and XRE. My goal was to create income but with a preference for long term growth. Am I on the right track? Please suggest any alternatives. Thanks very much!

Q: Why is my CBO 5 year laddered corporate bond ETF giving me a present yield of about 4%. The best 5 year corporate bond I can find available to me as a DYI investor on TDWH yields only about 2.5% at. Why the difference. Should I be worried. I am 57 years old and approaching retirement and feel the need for some fixed and CBO seems the option. What to do about the fixed income portion. Sometimes I think for the fixed income component it would be best just to stay in an investment savings account which pays 1.25% and eliminates the risk of loss of capital.

Q: I have owned WTE for a number of year and have more than a double. The experts have said it's overvalued for about 2 years but it has kept going up. It has recently dropped about 15%. Has there been some bad news or are the experts finally right. Unless there's a disaster I would plan to keep on holding for its stability of earnings and solid dividend with dividend grow in the future.

Q: Hello 5i, I am currently invested in BA, BCE, and SJR.B., the three representing a total of 5% of my total portfolio. I am considering adding TELUS(T). IYO,would I be better off to ADD this issue, increasing my exposure to this sector, or should I consider replacing one of the three I currently own?

Q: Hello 5i,
I’m looking to raise some cash and diversify my holding, as it stands right now, which two companies in the list below would you sell.
Enterprise Group (PEG), PPL Corp ( PPL), Duke Energy Corp (DUK), Emera Inc (EMA), Fortis Inc (FTS), Southern Co (SO), Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc (HE), Consolidated Edison Inc (ED), TransAlta Corp (TA), FirstEnergy Corp (FE)
Currently I’m a little overweight with Utilities and am looking for good companies in other sectors with the exception of telecom with a dividend around 5%, any ideas?
Thanks for your help!!

Q: Good evening
May I have a clarification on the payout for WEQ? On 14 Nov you suggested it was 53 pc and on 13 Mar you suggested 79 pc
Donville on BNN this evening seemed to suggest it was approaching 100 pc?
I look forward to you reply.
