Q: Can you give me your analysis of Stuart Olson, including valuation and whether the dividend appears safe? It appears to be reversing after years of the share price falling and becoming stagnant.

Q: Considering a sell on both DH & MIC. DH for the obvious reasons that you have previously commented on as well as I've owned it for several years & enjoy a reasonable gain. RBC Research however as of July 12/16 rates it Outperform with a target of $48?? As to MIC, I am at a break even & have some concerns re: the uncertainty of their US parent as well as the Real Estate market in Canada. These are both in a reasonably diversified RIF. Looking at AD, ECI & FSZ & would appreciate your opinion on these as well as suggestions on others. Thank you.
Q: I've read the answers about CJR.B. For an income portfolio, what Can. stocks do you recommend with a similar high dividend yield, some dividend growth, and safety of the dividend? Thank you.
Q: Hi. I am considering Enbridge income fund in my TFSA. Is it a good entry point or is there something better in this category? Thank for such a good site! Debbie
Q: My RIF equity portfolio has reached my target and I now wish to build cash in high interest paying investments such as GSBD.
There will be little price appreciation however security of principal will be better guarded over the long term (5 years plus)
In this case I will be employing my US holdings and realize the potential ramification of exchange differentials at time of cash out. I presently hold a small amount in XHY (yield now to low)however avoiding government or corporate bonds until the dust settles.
Do you have an opinion on GSBD?
Have any other ideas?
Thanks
Dave

Q: Please let me know your general theory on the following. Assuming one believes in getting dividend ( predominant ) income, interest income and capital gains what are your thoughts in allotting these between a TFSA, RRSP and regular margin account. Assume that RRSP and TFSA are maxed out contribution wise.
Thanks

Q: Transcontinental recently completed its third acquisition in the packaging area - would you be able to give me a sense of how much of the company this division now accounts for?
The company has been able to fund these acquisitions out of FCF ie no debt: the stock is cheap and provides a 4% dividend.
How would you evaluate the company's prospects for transformation from a declining legacy printing business into this new area.
Thank-you

Q: Hi Peter,
Enghouse has not been doing well. Do you still like it for long term hold? Any idea why Brookfield Bussiness Partners is going up today? Also, does recent announcement of Brookfield raising $14 B for the Global infrastructure Fund refer to BGI.UN? If so, is it better to invest in BGI.UN or BIP. UN? Lastly, Telecom stocks are stable but the PEs are quite high. Can you shed some light please? Thanks

Q: NPI is at all time highs given the announcement today of a 'strategic' review'. I am not really sure what that means as I would have thought management would always be looking for future growth opportunities and to enhance shareholder value. Given the pop in NPI I am thinking of selling my position and replacing it with BEP.UN for no other reason than 1) the higher yield 2) NPI may be fully valued and I don't see what could possibly come from a review other than perhaps the sale of the company which certainly does not sound like a possibility in the news release.
Thanks in advance

Q: I sold all my Oil and gas stocks in the fall of 2014 and all the pipelines in early 2015. Currently have no securities in this sector. I am not risk averse. Do you think this is a reasonable time to re-enter? I would appreciate some suggestions for holdings in my RRSP.Thanks and have a good day.
