Q: I am a conservative investor who would appreciate your recommendations as to the best 5 US stocks/ETFs to own over the next 2-3 years. Dividends are not necessary, however preference is for low risk stock recommendations.

Q: Raising cash and moving it into PSA. So far 10%.
Sold Zub.un into strength today . This gives a further 2% to add to current position in PSA.
Considering selling KWH.UN . Another 1% to add to PSA. Your thoughts please.
How will Kwh.un fare under recessionary pressure?

Q: Good evening,
Read your answer on Boston pizza where it should find a bottom soon PZA is at a 6 year low dividend 8.9%. Been waiting for it to find the bottom but it drifted again today on high volumes. Altough I can use the tax loss against ECI . Hate to sell with 36% loss What is your take on it ? Should i wait for a bounce and sell or ? Come tax season this one is going to get destroyed !

Q: The stock price of Boston Pizza has been declining steadily over the past year. Is there anything within their business model you can see that will enable them to stem this tide? Their menu prices are already quite high, and I don't see the company expanding store count to a great degree. For a Conservative investor, is the close to 8% yield worth putting any new money in?

Q: About ALA, FTN, PIC-A, how safe are those dividends ? For income would you buy any ? If so in which order. If none are buyable which other high dividends payers would you recommend ?
Already own over 20 dividend payers but mostly are under 5% except BYP, KWH, BEP, NWH.

Q: I will be retiring in 15 years. At that time I will have a livable pension.
I currently am 100% invested in equities (40 cad/40 us/ 20 international).
At retirement I plan on having a 50% equity and 50% bond/fixed income portfolio.
I am going to allocate 10% of my portfolio to bonds/fixed income shortly.

I plan on buying XSB and XTR.
1)Do you recommend a more diversified bond/fixed income portfolio? If so what geographic weighting and bond etfs would you recommend?
2)With a time horizon of 15 years would you hold off on purchasing long term bond etfs until after impeding interest rate increases?

Q: Hi,
Would you please comment on the impact of the news that Loblaw will spin out its interest in Choice Properties REIT? It sounds like Loblaw Minority Shareholders will receive 0.135 common shares of George Westin Limited for each common share of Loblaw held. Does that mean after the deal closes these shares will be added to a brokerage account? If so, and if those Westin shares are sold, is this a tax-free transaction?

Q: Thinking of selling altagas. Concerned about dividend at 2.19 or about 9% with earnings at about .89 for 2018 and about 1.30 projected 2019.
Hear not favorable comments on BNN but read what I believe favorable as investment with you.
Can't see dividend remaining sustainable. What am I missing is this worth hanging on. Appreciate your comments. Thanks

Q: Is BEP.UN, bought on the Canadian market, eligible for the Canadian Dividend tax credit? I buy US dividend stocks in my RRSP and Canadian DRIPS in my non registered account. Where would you recommend this stock sit as the dividends are paid in USD (I would like to get the Canadian dividend tax credit but would like to avoid the bank currency exchange costs everytime the dividend is used to but back stock? Q: I would like to get both these stocks up to 5% levels within my portfolio. I'm quite sure you are fine with these two businesses. However, being aware that the Brookfield accounting methods sometimes get negative comments, would owning a total of 10% weighting within the Brookfield family concern you?
