Q: As a retired investor, I am keen on stocks with low betas, high dividends and some growth. AQN, NPI and BEP all meet these criteria and are all up significantly, riding on a crest of green sentiment. These three stocks now compromise 13.5% of my total portfolio. I am loathe to part with my green energy stocks as they are doing so well. That said, have I put too many eggs in one basket? At what percent should I cap my green energy investment? Other than higher interest rates, what could impact continued growth in this sector?
On a related note, I am now overweight in utilities, which now represent 21% of my total portfolio. This includes the three above-mentioned stocks, plus Fortis and BEP. Would you suggest reducing this weighting? And if so, which stock(s )would you be inclined to sell?
Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,
We have a 2.5% position in CN, and are a bit underweight in the industrial sector. Would the ongoing rail line blockade and slight decline in share price represents a buying opportunity? Or would a new investment into WSP, for example, be a better strategy? (Our other industrials are CAE, SIS, and TFII). Thanks in advance for your valued advice.

Q: With the buyback and small distribution cut that BPF.UN has done,as well as more online and delivery service they will be able to hold the line from their gradual trend downward over the last few years
Q: I am looking to invest in 10 good dividend stocks with a stable dividend and some growth prospect. It does not matter whether the companies are US or Canadian. Thank you.
Q: Outlook please
Q: Your last report on this company had FWD EV/EBITDA at about 13. What is that ratio now? I am concerned the stock has appreciated well past its fair value and is due for a sharp correction.
The 5 year chart shows an incredible change in trend starting in 2019. I have rarely seen this type of chart continue higher.
I am considering selling the position and buying back in $5 or $10 lower. Is this getting too cute or prudent profit taking.

Q: Why would a company like telus do a stock split at its somewhat low price? Usually stocks don't split in this price range.

BMO Equal Weight Utilities Index ETF (ZUT)
Q: Utilities seem to go parabolic since December 2018 with no sign of slowing down. Since interest rates seem to remain low for a foreseeable future, is this a new secular trend emerging from improved interest in green energy. ZUT in particular includes many renewable power generator companies. So I basically have 2 questions: If this is a new secular trend should one increase their utility allocation ? 2: Is there still life for oil and gas companies ?
Q: I intend to diversify away a bit from the Brookfield family as I already have BEP.UN and BIP.UN.
Within my RRSP I intend to sell BYP.UN and am interested in buying AW.UN. It appears that A & W's debt is under control. Dividend growth appears to lack a bit of consistency though.
How good is their management?
Would you expect about 7 or 8% total return going forward?
Morningstar Fair Value is about $35. Would you agree?
Would a 5% position be too much for this type of stock if we were to go into a recession?
Do you have any concerns over the 20% drop from its highs?
Thanks.

Q: Hello. I think my queries submitted have gone AWOL! May I have your comments on earning please
Q: Hi 5i,
My BEP holding is up 70% and represents 5.2% of my portfolio. I see you are recommending trimming in your model portfolio. I was considering a trim sometime this year but I was thinking it would make sense to wait for the "free" new company shares that are being allocated later this year (1 for every 4 shares). Does this thinking make sense?

Q: Can you be more specific about “the 1 or 2 portfolio issues they are dealing with?”
Q: Interested in buying ARE. Your thoughts and thanks!
Q: Please, what are earnings expectations for the next Q results for BNS, TD, NA.
I have not found a web site that would give that info, can you suggest one ?
Thanks,
