Q: What sectors and top stock picks for each sector would you advise to address inflation and a recession. If possible, could you provide entry points.

Q: I am looking to simplify my non-registered investment portfolio for my retirement, which is now only 9 months away. I am looking to protect capital and create income. I am looking at one ETF and one fund as possible landing spots for my capital: XSP. And FID282.
Can you please compare and contrast these two funds for me? Are the different enough to warrant owning both? Is there anything else I should be considering?

Q: Please help me balance out one of my portfolios. It is tilted heavily to quality us stocks- GOOGL, TMO, MSFT, DIS, SYK, NVDA, BKNG, ACN,BLK, SBUX,ADP,IDXX, ADOBE, EL, AND XYL.
My canadian stocks are BAM,TD, CNR, FSV, SHOP AND TSU.

I would like to increase canadian exposure--- would you suggest gradually
adding to an etf such as xic or could you suggest a few canadian stocks
that would be suitable in this investing envioronment such as energy, materials etc to balance out this portfolio.

Q: What are your opinions on BIPC and BIP.UN?

I hold these in registered accounts and now they account for ~9% of my total portfolio and when I consider the fact I hold BAM.A these Brookefield names would represent ~12 % of my portfolio. As a result I am tempted to trim BIPC or BIP.UN.

If I were to trim do you have any preference/recommendation to trim one over the other or both equally?

Q: Has Enbridge ever cut their dividend? Does Enbridge have a history of systematic dividend increases?

Q: Can you explain to me the $970 million loss from hedging.Did they actually loose money or just opportunity cost

Have heard that dividend stocks in TFSA can be good as income can compound over time tax free but if the growth outperformes the dividend yield would that not be better? I owned BIP.PR.D for a couple of years and liked the steady dividends. I am looking at a) another Brookfield preferred that is similar or
b) an ETF that has mostly rate reset bons with a decent dividend or
c) another preferred share from a stable company, like fortis, bce, telus, enb, trp, etc
I would like something that provides 5%, has at least 2 years shelf life. Is it possible to provide maybe 5 choices, ranked that meet the above criterion?

My overall portfolio weighting in energy has grown to 20.49% and I am looking to trim and/or get out of a position in the next few weeks/months.

I currently hold SU 9.62%, TOU 4.74%, PXT 1.11%, KEY 1.07%, ENB 3.95%.

Leaning towards selling my entire position on PXT and some of SU but would appreciate your opinion. I still have a high conviction in the energy sector but I am uncomfortable with my overall weighting in it. Would greatly appreciate your thoughts and how you would rank each stock to each other.

I am also underweight in industrial/healthcare/utilities and looking to purchase a stock in those sectors with whatever i sell in energy. Would appreciate a recommendation in each of those sectors.

Q: Bep.un and bepc have both have a nice run over the past few months. Would you be comfortable adding new money to either of these stocks?

Q: The preferred market is a little odd. CPD consists of 76% rate reset preferred yet is hurt by rising 5 year government rates. Which, of course, their future dividend is based off of. Do you have a feel for this and at what point does CPD become a buy given rising government of Canada bond rates?

Q: Hello, I am using Portfolio Analytics and it's suggested allocation is to increase Consumer Cyclical, Industrials and Utilities and increase in U.S. exposure. What is your suggestion for these categories for investment into TFSA & unregistered with a 10-15 year timeline? stocks or ETFs? thank you
