Q: Would you consider these two energy/pipeline stocks as a reasonable holding in one portfolio for several years? With the trends to devalue energy stocks due to climate changes and relevant government policies some investors or investment firms would start exiting such stocks. I myself , despite the all negative sentiment for energy stocks cannot see that combustion powered engines will disappear from roadways of North America ,Europe, Asia or Africa any time soon. Will they all be replaced by " inexpensive" electric engine driven vehicles? I can hardly see it. Perhaps in 50 years? What is your opinion on this matter?

Q: Hi 5i,
Thinking of selling VXUS and buying VEA, VWO, DIM, DLS in its place to gain wider exposure to international stocks, what do you think of this idea. I will be able to control percentages in various market cap. companies too.

Q: Hi 5iResearch team
I am in the process of doing re-weighting. I know the above etfs. The US bond etf (VGSH) has very low interest yield compared to the CAD ones (XSB, ZCS, and ZCM).

1. Are there other US bond etfs that are similar to the above CAD ones in terms of yield and risk?

2. ZUP is in CAD$ and US$. Can you please recommend two more (CAD or US) etfs that are similar to ZUP in terms of yield and risk?

Thank you for the great service.

Q: The above ETFs represent my current holdings for Intn’l Equity exposure and are held in my RRSP. I am able to add to my Intn’l exposure in my RRSP and would like your recommendation for a C$ ETF that might fill in any gaps that my current holdings don’t cover or alternatively I could just add to my current holdings.
I do not need to RIF for 8 more years but some dividend yield would be preferable as I do draw out my div/int earnings annually.

Q: Currently my only energy exposure is by way of pipelines; ENB and PPL. Given the prospects for good energy demand and increasing dividends in the sector I would like your recommendation for a company with good dividends and relative strength to withstand the ups and downs in the sector.
This would be a long term position in my dividend focused non-registered portfolio.
I have targeted the above 3 companies as prospects but would be open to others you may recommend. Any preference for Oil vs Gas focus?

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor, who usually follows a fully invested, buy-and-hold strategy for the long term but trims-adds around core positions to achieve the targeted asset allocation. I currently have <4% cash in the combined family portfolio.

Question #1 = for new monies into my wife's account as they become available, please rank the order in which you would invest into BCE, LNF, NWC....and why? I'm looking at where is the most Total Return upside over the foreseeable future. Ignore asset allocation, I've got that covered.

Q#2 = ditto for my account, please rank for new money investment into LIFE, ZRE, BNS, WSP...and why?

2 questions...please deduct 2 credits.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.....Steve
