-
Sun Life Financial Inc. (SLF $83.16)
-
TMX Group Limited (X $51.43)
Q: I've been sitting on my Q2 div revenues waiting for things to settle a bit. Looking to add to one off the 3 positions X, TD, SLF. Balanced/Income portfolio follower, moving towards income follower. 5+ yr hold. Conversely if there is a holding in the Income portfolio that is a screaming buy right now I would consider adding to that position or starting a new position if I don't already own it.
Q: Would you consider it to be a buy at this time?

Q: Hi 5i, can I have your current view on the market with respect to inflation, interest rates (inverted yield curve) and recession chances. I realize markets are forward looking and I'm trying to guage future rate increases as I have a few quarters of dividends to spend on income stocks. Oh, and what would be your top three dividend stock picks now? Was looking at SLF, BNS and AQN, but based on your answer to first part, I may hold off.
Thx

Q: Is AQN in for more pressure with the continuing heatwave in Texas? The infrastructure there is not strong nor do they have connections to very many states.

Q: In addition to the Income portfolio, please suggest 10 diversified Canadian large cap stocks that should produce a total return of 8% with minimum volatility and a dividend ie no roller coaster ride. Thank you
Q: I am a retired income investor who derives all his income from investments. For obvious reasons I am a fan of covered calls and own the various ZWs and HDIV. I also own the canadian banks and ENB. Most of these have held up fairly well in the turmoil. My question is do the covered call ETF administrators try to keep the return % approx level as the ETF value changes. I note that the RBC quoted return for HDIV is noeth of 10% but ZWC is approx 7% which is not much change from where it was in April. Other ZWs are similar. It would seem that BMO manage the return whereas Harvest do not.
Q: hello 5i:
Recently, I asked about selling AC and moving the money to EIF. You were positive on this. AC has been sold, and though good earnings growth for EIF is projected, I've found that they miss Analyst expectations on all metrics (Earnings/Share, Cash Flow, and Free Cash Flow) as often, or more, than they hit them.
With that in mind, how much faith can I put in an Earnings Growth projection? Is there a metric I'm missing and should be looking at?
Is there and Industrial space company similar to this, but with a better record of meeting expectations?
thanks
Paul L

Q: Hi all,
Looking for another company that will compliment my holding of ENB. Was thinking of TCL. Would those two be too much of an overlap? Any other suggestion would be appreciated for a large cap with dividends stock.
Thanks

Q: Good morning 5i staff,
I am thinking about selling PLC for a tax loss and buying again in 30 days. I know the previous exdividend date was in June but I don't know how to find out when the next one is, as this might affect my decision. Do you see any catalysts that would affect this stock in the next thirty days, or do you think that it will not rise much in that time?
thanks for all your great advice

Q: What is your overall view of Cogeco for growth in the next 3 to 5 years. Thanks.
-
Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN $38.44)
-
ATCO Ltd. Class I Non-voting Shares (ACO.X $53.36)
-
Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP.UN $47.83)
Q: What would account for ATCO's lackluster performance over the last 10 years? Lumpy earnings? The chart looks quite good in the years prior to 2012, and the dividend appears to have been raised fairly regularly.
As a retired dividend stock investor, I am interested in it's diversification. I do have exposure to the Brookfields, but do you think there is enough difference between ATCO and BIP/BEP to warrant an investment in this company?

Thanks.
