Q: AT&T has never seen such a low price for almost 30 yrs, would you suggest right now is a good time to initiate a position for long-term holding? Thanks for your great service.
Q: For this type of fast food or fast casual category, which one is better to buy for growth+bit a of income at the moment: A&W or MTY Foods?
- Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN)
- Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN)
- Northland Power Inc. (NPI)
- TransAlta Renewables Inc. (RNW)
- Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. Corporate Units (AQNU)
Q: All the renewable stocks other than BEP.UN are getting beaten up today. Any news that I missed. Could it be Tax loss selling since the sector is one of the few that has done poorly this year?
Q: Please rank these 3 from perspective of someone soon to be retired. Need income; a degree of safety and hopefully some growth (dividend and value)
Thanks,
Thanks,
Q: I have read in your Q&A that AW.UN.CA has non-eligible dividends and is best in a registered account. By that do you mean both TFSA and RRSP? I'm interested in starting a position in my TFSA. Thank you.
- Enbridge Inc. (ENB)
- TC Energy Corporation (TRP)
- Pembina Pipeline Corporation (PPL)
- AltaGas Ltd. (ALA)
- Keyera Corp. (KEY)
- Gibson Energy Inc. (GEI)
- Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd. (TWM)
Q: Please rate in order picks for dividend income and growth
Q: of all the renewable energy utilities that pay a dividend is Algonquin a good buy?
Q: What would you recommend as additions to a retired person's portfolio that presently contains:
22% BCE
13% BAM
18% Fortis
10% TRP
16% TD
Dividends and stability are important while understanding that there are no guarantees.
Many thanks,

- Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN)
- Northland Power Inc. (NPI)
- Boralex Inc. Class A Shares (BLX)
Q: I'm down about 15% on BIP.UN and am thinking of a tax loss sale and purchasing either NPI or BLX; and then reentering BEP in January. I currently hold CPX and AQN.
A similar question had been asked previously in June, and 5i's recommendation was either NPI or BLX. Has anything changed with these companies since June? What would be your preference for a short term hold today and why?
Many thanks!

- Transcontinental Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (TCL.A)
- Transcontinental Inc. Class B Multiple Voting Shares (TCL.B)
Q: The multi voting shares trade at a ~5% premium to the subordinates, is there a coattail provision for the sub shares in the event of a takeover/privatization and how likely is this considering the family ownership?
TCL.a is in the Income portfolio at a 2.5% weight and 38% reduction from purchase price, would you consider the weight appropriate, and with an event such as a takeover would you expect a premium close to what was paid for the shares or could it possibly be a takeunder?

Q: Would you still recommend CDZ as the best Canadian Dividend ETF for retirees? Is it a good basic Canadian equity fund?
- AbbVie Inc. (ABBV)
- Merck & Company Inc. (MRK)
- BMO Equal Weight US Health Care Hedged to CAD Index ETF (ZUH)
Q: As a retired income plus some growth couple in late 70's with only RRIF and tfsa accounts pls help. We had abbv 5.5%, zuh 5% then added mrk 3.5% lately based on the Covid pill and positive 5i info only to see a 15% drop on news and selloff. Should we sell mrk with the loss or hold. If sell what woul you suggest to add. Thanks
Q: Hello -
In a recent Q&A, your team mentioned that TRP is cheap. It currently has an approximate PE of 30X. Do you see the "E" increasing in the near future to make this ratio look more reasonable? Or from what metric do you see this stock as being inexpensive ?
I also see negative Free Cash flow for the last number of years. Is this concerning?
With growing demand for EV's going forward, how much of a negative impact will this have on ENB and TRP ? Is one slightly more vulnerable to the changeover from ICE to EV than the other?
Thanks.

Q: Good morning,
I own shares of ENB in my Non Reg account and I'm looking at selling ENB for some tax loss harvesting this year. Can you please provide me with your best idea in terms of a suitable proxy among other pipelines? Thank you.

Q: I'm interested in freeing up some cash in one of our RRSP accounts and, in order to do so, plan to sell one of the 3 listed companies.
Kindly advise which one you would consider disposing of first and, perhaps, a brief explanation as to why.
Thanks for the help. Richard

Q: For my more conservative/income portfolio I’d like to add a utility (already have AQN). Which would you prefer between Fortis or Emera (which I believe has a weaker balance sheet)? Or would you have a different recommendation entirely? Thanks
Q: How safe is the dividend? Would it be deemed appropriate for RIF income?
Q: I see several analysts estimates targeting PKI in the $50 range, implying about a 50% upside. Does this seem at all reasonable to you?? Thanks Jim
Q: Long time holder of NPI, wondering what your thoughts would be on a switch to BEP.UN. The fact it is one of the few stocks you have rated as an 'A' is a huge vote of confidence, as well as being a Brookfield company, more diversified, larger market cap, slightly higher yield.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
