Q: Hi Folks,
I've held GILD in my TFSA now for a couple of years and I'm down 27%, time to let it go. I also hold ABBV, PFE and MDT all performing well - can you suggest a replacement for GILD - looking for a company paying a dividend with some growth. Appreciate your suggestion.
Thanks

Q: Hi, looking to start one or two Canadian based etf. Retired, no investment out of Canada. I think I should have some. Would like monthly income, 4%+ ,moderate risk, some growth if possible.
I think Cyh is the only one with a little growth?
Could you suggest two etf’s you prefer, or suggest two from above you might have confidence in.
Thanks

Q: Hello Team,
Given your past responses it does not seem like you are fans of Colliers or at least would allocate capital to other names first (and don’t like the amount of debt they carry).
I don’t understand this and look at the company as a smaller, younger BAM for the following reasons:
- Their IM is growing by over 50% yoy.
- revenue has compounded over the last decade while ebitda margins have improved from 9.3% to 14%.
- their acquisitions of Harrison st, basalt, antirion have diversified their offering to be more infrastructure than only RE.
- they have already proven to successfully expanded into engineering serivcies.
- Their goal is to have over 65% reoccurring revenue by 2025
- Jay Hennick has proven track record with the stock providing compounded annually return of +20% for 20 years.
I could go on and on but given the tailwinds for alternative asset managers (similar to BAM) and proven track record. I don’t understand how this isn’t in your core stable of beloved Canadian names with the likes of BAM, CSU, TOI, ECN, ATD, GSY, etc.
I would love to hear your expanded feedback on the name

Q: Years ago I bought CJ at $4.20 and recently sold it when it reached that price again. Obviously, a mistake as it is now $7.72. I own WCP and VET which are now back to my original purchase price.
What do I do ? The oil and gas sector is cyclical and I wish to exit this sector as am retired and rely on a safer higher dividend portfolio but do not want to repeat selling these too early. Do I follow analysis target price and /or other metrics, or do I just bail out , happy to get my money back? Thanks .
Derek

Q: I'm considering a minimum 5 year investment in one of these two companies and I would appreciate if you could talk me out of it. If I'm not swayed by your argument, which one would you choose and why? Thanks.
Q: What is your current and long growth view of this royalty Co
Q: HI folks.
Happy Spring.
I believe that I once saw your List of Canadian Companies that pay their dividends in US dollars. Would you please send me the link.
I am slowly going to sell off and then rebuy the stocks that I own in Canadian $ ( over the the US $ side of my accounts with existing US $ cash). Is this the best plan in order to avoid FX charges and receive my dividends in US$ ? At what point is it not worth it??
Much thanks

Q: I am a young retiree with a well diversified portfolio. I could use some stability and dividend in my portfolio which is more focused on growth. Can I have your assessment on Russel metals. It seems that the economy should continue to do well even with some inflation as the markets seem to have digested the increase in rates. The world will always need metals to manufacture things. Why is Russel so cheap? Why is it not in your income portfolio?
Thanks a million LOL LOL

Q: Hi 5i,
My goal is to increase the income from my portfolio. Can I please ask for your top 5 dividend and dividend growth stocks today?
I was looking at your blog post highlighting Cdn companies paying USD$ dividends and am very interested. Would any of these names be on your list?
Thanks in advance and please deduct multiple questions as needed.

Q: Hi,
I assume you're still positive on ENB for the long-term? I have both ENB and AltaGas, with the latter finally coming back up to my ACB. I was thinking of selling it and consolidating the funds into ENB. Partly to reduce my holdings but also because I have more confidence in ENB.
Would you prefer diversity and keep both positions? Or is my plan ok?
Thanks,
Robert

Q: I've noted lately that Canadian pipeline company's price appreciation is actually doing better than usual. I currently own PPL, ALA, and ENB, all of which are making good gains, (especillay Pembina). I find this unusual for companies that pay such high dividends.. Just wondering if my observation is correct and if so why is this happening? Also, do you think in the present environment the rate of appreciation of their stock prices will continue upwards for the short and long term?
