Q: Hi, sorry for my apple to oranges question, but I’m thinking of selling Msft ( down) for tax loss and adding X for a long term hold. Would you be ok with this move, or do you feel Msft would be much better in the long term? Looking for the elusive combination of steady growth and stability.
Thanks

5i Research Answer:
We like X, and it is outperforming nicely this year, up 8.2%. But we would see MSFT as the better long term growth stock here. If we were to predict, we would expect MSFT, over the long term, to grow fast enough to offset any tax benefits picked up in the short term from a swap.
