Q: Most of my portfolio is split 60% cad 40% usa. Do you have suggestions for ETFs outside of these regions that you think can outpace these regions or add beneficial diversification? Can either be regions or sectors.

5i Research Answer:

'Outpace' of course will depend. International markets have not be great, though some improvement is noted this year. But certainly they are cheap and can add diversification. VIU is one of our favourites. Global, but ex-North America, we think it is solid for Canadians looking for diversity. VXUS is another suggestion, ex-USA with a bit of Canada exposure (7%). This question from today outlines some European options, and VEE looks good for emerging markets.
