Q: To my big surprise the monthly income from XDIV is classified as "interests" income at BMO Investorline and not as dividends income. A T5 slip will confirm this in a few weeks but in your view should it be interest or dividend? Thanks.

5i Research Answer:

Our data shows the fund is 100% equities and 100% Canadian. Both of these imply that dividends would be only interest, and eligible for the tax credit. From Blackrock's own website it shows all XDIV income as eligible dividends the Q3 of last year.
