- Vanguard FTSE Canadian High Dividend Yield Index ETF (VDY)

Q: Hello 51 and Happy New Year! I would like your opinion regarding the following ETFS : VDY, XDIV and HDIV. Considering MERs for each and total return on investment which one in your opinion is a better buy?
Thank you in advance for your response.

5i Research Answer:
VDY is $3.3B, fees 0.22%, yield 4.10%, 5-year 12.29%. XDIV is $1.9B, fees 0.11%, yield 4.11%, 5-year 11.36%. HDIV cannot be truly compared as it uses leverage and covered calls. $600M assets, fees 2%+, yield 11.65%, five-year not available, 3 year 11.37%. We would lean toward VDY here for a straight dividend (no calls, no leverage) fund.
