Q: I sold zfl for a tax loss. Can you tell me if can would be considered a suitable proxy by CRA? Also, how do the durations compare?
Thanks

5i Research Answer:

ZFL is a federal bond ETF where VAB has some corporate exposure (albeit majority is government related). Bond maturities for VAB are in the 1-10 year range. Maturities for ZFL are in the 20+ year range. So, they are a bit different and we would view VAB as more diversified with a lower duration.
