Q: What are the unloved companies that have strong businesses - ones that are poor short-term but good long term? I'm planning on buying a few t5ax-loss candidates.

5i Research Answer:

There are certainly a few companies that are out of favour now but still maintain strong competitive positions in their industries over the long term. These names are trading at quite attractive multiples relative to their historical averages and peer groups such as BYD, ATD, LMN, and ASML (while recent momentum has been negative and we would prefer to wait until its price finds a floor).

Authors of this answer, directors, partners and/or officers of 5i Research and/or affiliated companies have a financial or other interest in ASML.
