There are a couple of specific Canadian ETFs that focus on both low volatility and high dividends, being the CIBC Qx Canadian Low Volatility Dividend ETF (CQLC) and the Franklin Canadian Low Volatility High Dividend ETF (FLVC). Both have low liquidity (FLVC at $2.2M in AUM and CQLC at $3.8M in AUM). FLVC has an MER of 0.15% and CQLC has an MER of 0.34%.
Both have performed similarly, and overall, we would prefer FLVC due to its lower MER.
If an investor is looking for a more liquid fund, while not specifically 'low volatility', we also like CDZ, VDY, and ZDV.
