Q: If we do go into a significant recession over the next year, what sectors will do poorly and what sectors will likely be more stable? How might REIT ETFs perform?
Thanks!

5i Research Answer:

Real estate could be mixed. On the one hand lower interest rates are good for the sector. On the other hand, in a bad recession values decline and occupancy rates rise. Generally, healthcare, utilities and consumer staples fare OK in a recession. Consumer discretionary, industrials and tech can be weak.
