Q: What are your favorite monthly income ETF's? Safety, decent distributions, and possible upside are priorities.

XTR we think is a good 'general' monthly income, equity-based. HDIV is an enhanced fund that uses covered call to boost income. HDIF is also a diversified monthly fund using call options. ZMI is a mixed fund with both bonds and stocks. We would be comfortable with any of these.
