Q: Can you compare the three and why you would prefer one over the other? And also for a retired income dependant investor how much would you consider to allocate in a portfolio? Tks Larry

5i Research Answer:

HDIV is a $462M, multi-sector, leveraged covered call ETF. Indicated yield is 12.17%, 3-year return 13.8%. HDIF is $379M is very similar, with a shorter history (1 year 19.33% vs HDIV 23.30%). Indicated yield is 10.57%. We would be comfortable with either ETF, but better performance would see us lean to HDIV. CIG447 we would not consider comparable. It is $5B, but is a 'balanced' fund with fixed income exposure. One year is 6.2% and three year is 0.2%. It does not use leverage or covered calls so is not really comparable. MER is 1.6% and we do not find it attractive. For the others, we would see 10% as an allocation.
