Q: Hi, I like to get your opinion on Pimco Monthly income as part of an income portfolio. Is the distribution stable or is there a large fluctuations between each years? Thank You

5i Research Answer:

Distributions do vary, but around a fairly tight range of values. Here is a summary of recent distributions.  We would consider it a pretty decent fund overall, but expenses are quite high at 0.86%. Since-inception return is 6.95% and in the past decade it only lost money in one year (2022, which was ugly for all assets). Note this fund is available as an ETF (PMIF) which has an indicated yield of 8.57% and one-year return of 8.59%. Fees are similar for the ETF, however. For an income allocation (but not to be considered 'cash') we would be comfortable owning this fund.
