Q: A final (?) adjustment to my RRIF. I would like to add some Tech with a dividend component. I would appreciate your thoughts on HTA as an option. If you have other comments or suggestions they would be most welcome. Thanks Dan.

5i Research Answer:

Our only know on HTA would be the high fees (0.99%). It has done what it set out to do: provide high income and exposure to a solid group of tech securities. 5-year annualized is 21.07%. Indicated yield is 8.04%. It will lag in a tech rally, but investors should be aware of this going in. We would be entirely comfortable with it overall. QMAX can be also considered. It is a bit different, with a higher yield but similar holdings. It uses an 'at the money' option strategy to enhance yield.
