5i Research Answer:
In most cases, distributions are priced in to current market prices. Thus, there is not often a chance to 'game' the payment cycle and profit from it. But generally speaking if one has the cash we would prefer buying before the ex dividend date. We would consider PSA a cash-parking ETF and not one to profit from, other than the yield.
