fit in to the chip craze if at all.
PTK designs and develops photonic integrated circuits for the data center, telecommunications, and AI markets. It is an emerging technology that incorporates light for communication among chips in an effort to eliminate the bandwidth and power-efficiency bottlenecks present in electronic devices.
This technology is still new and the company is quite small at an $85M market cap. It generates $0.5M in sales and is highly unprofitable. We think the concept is interesting, but largely we view it as too early for us to endorse this name. We would prefer to wait until the business model has been established and the path to profitability becomes more clear.
