- iShares Core S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF (XIC)
- iShares MSCI EAFE Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) (XIN)
- Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF (VFV)
Q: Hi All At 5i!
I would like to substitute XIC or XIN with VFV in hopes of more growth. Which would you suggest??
Cheers,
Tamara

5i Research Answer:
This is a call between the Canadian market and the EAFE (Europe and Far East) market. Right now, XIN is 23% Japan, 13% UK, 11.7% France and 10% Switzerland. Five year returns are quite similar (XIN 9.3%, XIC 9.6%) but one -year variance is wide (XIC 4.97%, XIN 12.75%). Assuming an investor already has at least some Canadian exposure, we would side with XIN.
