Q: I have a no. of ETFs with OPTIONS on its 30% approx applied to generate extra income. Naturally it is higher risk/reward but I can not find how to access monthly (or annual) reports on Div income, Options gain/loss or dilution of Equity. Specially Equity dilution is a concern and I wonder if they can avoid informing shareholders such important information.
5i Research Answer:
ETFs report distribution tax information annually, and will be available on the managers' websites. For 2022, BKCC's distribution was 24c eligible dividends and 48c return of capital. Dilution is not really a factor with ETFs, because new purchases of units simply go towards buying more securities. Unlike corporations, there is not a 'fixed' amount of assets at any one time.
